3 . Industry colleagues share ways they're leading their teams through current crisis with eye on restart
During the Town Hall today, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Chair of the Senate Finance Committee took to the Senate floor to speak on behalf of aid for our industry and we were able to listen to a recording together, thanks to John Grzywac z for sharing the link with Ken Presley.

Alan Thrasher , of Thrasher Brothers Trailways and Chair of UMA's Legislative and Regulatory Committee, briefed operators on the various legislative developments unfolding on Capitol Hill, including various small business provisions in the Restart Act (S.3814), PPP forgiveness, and an update on CERTS Act status. See the slides for details.

A panel of operators discussed ways they're leading their companies through crisis, from keeping their team informed through the closure to contact customers. Panelists were Bethany Schubert of Trobec's Bus Service, Dennis Streif of Vandalia Bus Lines, and Cary Martin of Little Rock Tours & Travel. The panelists discussed using group texting apps to stay in touch with employees, using every opportunity touch base with customers, and even to look for new business opportunities. 4 . How the HEALS Act compares to the HEROES Act
capitol building
CNBC | July 30, 2020 | by Alicia Adamcyk

Senate Republicans unveiled the  Health, Economic Assistance, Liability Protection and Schools, or HEALS, Act , Monday night, their starting point for negotiations for the next coronavirus relief bill.

Included in the HEALS Act are provisions for another stimulus check, more money for small businesses and liability protections for companies that bring workers back to the office during the pandemic.

The HEALS Act comes months after House Democrats introduced the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions, or HEROES, Act, their coronavirus stimulus wishlist. While the HEALS Act would cost around $1 trillion, the  HEROES Act clocks in at $3 trillion  and includes provisions for hazard pay for essential workers and housing relief, among other measures not included in the Senate’s bill.

Now, Congress will negotiate and try to strike a balance between the two bills. Here’s a rundown of some of the main similarities and differences between the HEALS Act and HEROES Act.
