ALERT! SCAMMERS ARE PRETENDING TO BE DUKE CREDIT UNION!

Identity Theft


DCU will not ask you for your one-time passcodes, passwords or recommend you withdraw cash and send money through a cryptocurrency ATM.

If you receive an unexpected text, email, or message that appears to be from Duke Credit Union, claiming there is an issue with your account, do not respond. Scammers may ask you to provide your card number, personal details, online banking credentials, or a one-time passcode.


  • This is a scam — a fraudulent attempt to steal your personal information and money by someone pretending to be Duke Credit Union. DO NOT RESPOND on whatever communication tool you are connecting on (phone call, email, text, etc.). Contact Duke Credit Union directly via one of our official channels to be certain you are communicating with Duke Credit Union.

If you are a victim of fraud or you think you have been scammed, take action quickly!


  1. Change your passwords on all impacted accounts.
  2. Inform Duke Credit Union that your account has been compromised.
  3. Contact Law Enforcement to provide them with as much details as possible about the scam.
  4. Monitor your account for any unauthorized activity.
  5. Consider identity theft protection (if any of your sensitive information has been compromised).
