C.A.R. Spring Business Meetings - C.A.R. Business Meetings scheduled for Sacramento will be held virtually April 27- May 1 d ue to the unprecedented public health crisis presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.  For more information, please view the schedule online Here . Please note: the date and time of meetings is tentative and subject to change, and some meetings are closed or by invitation only. 
New Forms : C.A.R. had a great session on Friday; Legal counsel shared t hree (3) new forms released this past week, including: 1) CVA-LR (Coronavirus Lease/Rental Addendum or Amendment) can be attached to a lease agreement at the time of formation or can be added as an amendment after the lease has been accepted, if both parties agree. Its terms are intended to be used when the Tenant/Lessee has not yet taken possession; 2) NUCC-LR (Notice of Unforeseen Lease/Rental Coronavirus Circumstance) is the notice form to be used when the CVA-LR is part of the lease agreement and one party has an unforeseen circumstance that impacts the ability to perform under the purchase agreement, or it may be provided for informational purposes only; and 3) PEAD-LR (Coronavirus Lease/Rental Property Entry Advisory and Declaration) is used for any visitor who is entering a property with a tenant or occupant, or when it is related to property management. Updated Forms : Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA): the EDD will begin taking online PUA applications on April 28, 2020. In order to provide benefits as quickly as possible following that date, the EDD announced that payments will be issued in phases. Initially, benefit payments will be the minimum amounts ($167 per week of eligibility, plus the $600 additional payment for certain weeks, as outlined on the FAQ webpage). The EDD will work to develop income verification procedures to determine if individuals are eligible for higher payments, which would apply retroactively to the first date of eligibility. We will update this information with any income verification procedures and timing when the EDD makes it available. You can find more information here [updated on April 17].
Update on Relief : Small Business Administration (SBA) Loans: SBA announced this past week that it is unable to accept new applications at this time for the Paycheck Protection Program or the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)-COVID-19 related assistance program (including EIDL Advances) based on available appropriations funding. Congress is likely to replenish these programs as part of the next stimulus package, and C.A.R. has written to Congress r equesting that funding be increased for the PPP program as soon as possible.
