Love Formento's Staffers? Help Them Out!

Formento's hourly staff are a dedicated crew. They are a kind, hard-working, funny, bright group of humans. Restaurant work of our kind doesn't come with the same health benefits, investments, or general reliability that lots of professions do. Even so, many of us MUST work hospitality because it feels like it's written on our DNA.

If members of this staff have poured you a new cocktail in-the-works, or lingered at your romantic table for two on a busy Saturday night... consider showing a little love.

Every little bit helps. Let's find every which way to be kind & generous during a strange and new time, neighbors. Cheers.
Order Stan's Donuts & Coffee online through their Loyalty app, on their website, via UberEats, GrubHub, and DoorDash. There is a special on gift cards: if you purchase a $25 gift card, you get an extra $5.
Recess Employee Relief Fund

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the governor of Illinois has announced that all bars and restaurants will be closed to dine-in customers through March 30. This has had an immense impact on the livelihood of our hardworking staff. If you appreciate them as we do, please consider making a contribution to help them weather these strange times.
Support Smyth & The Loyalist Staff

Like so many restaurants affected by the mandatory closedown, we’re most heartbroken for our extraordinary employees. We have also been fortunate enough, despite these challenging times, to have many of our regular guests ask how they can help, for which we are eternally grateful. We’ve established this GoFundMe for anyone who wishes to donate funds that will go directly toward the expenses and needs of our team through this crisis.

We know there is a lot of uncertainty ahead for many of us, but look forward to many more shared meals and memories with all of you around our tables. Please be well, and take care of your neighbor.
To our family, friends and valued guests,

As many of you already know, the state of Illinois has mandated the closing of all bars and restaurants to dine-in customers to help stem the spread of COVID-19. In accordance, El Che has suspended operations until that mandate is lifted. This puts our Che family out of work until this crisis is over.

While we're confident this was the correct course of action, it is going to hurt the most financially vulnerable first. That said, our goal is to raise several weeks of pay for our staff. We will work diligently to make sure we all get through this crisis with the minimum amount of pain and suffering.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to our staff.

Stay safe and be well,
John

In efforts to provide support to community organizations during the COVID-19 global pandemic,  University of Illinois at Chicago ’s Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement is requesting your volunteer needs during these unprecedented times. They invite community organizations to utilize their platform to recruit UIC volunteers.
Dear Boqueria Guests,

Thank you. The outpouring of support you have shown us over the past weeks has been incredible. Like most restaurants, as part of closing our doors in DC, NY and Chicago we have been forced to lay off most of our team, nearly 500 employees. Effective as of last Friday, neither Marc nor I have been drawing a salary until we reopen so as much money as possible can be directed to helping our team. Despite this, we have limited resources, and many of you have asked how you can help.

While unemployment benefits will help many employees, they will not be enough to fully cover the needs of our team and their families. To ensure support is provided to those most in need, we are establishing The Boqueria Relief Fund.

To kick off the fund, I, along with Boqueria Board members Paul Fleming, Rick Federico and Sally Brophy, will each be donating $5,000.

Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you,

Yann de Rochefort
