Dear Nevada AAP Members,

I became a certified COVID Vaccine Ambassador, and so can you! What's more, for free, your support staff and the families you serve can also become certified.

Created by the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health, this free, go at your own pace 2-hour course prepares parents of school-age children, PTAs, community members, and school staff to be Vaccine Ambassadors and promote vaccine acceptance in their communities.

Please do your part to become a certified COVID Vaccine Ambassador and encourage others to do so as well. Together we can effectively fight against misinformation and vaccine hesitancy.

Today's Member Update is full of wonderful member work, opportunities for pediatric providers, and a calendar of events -- mostly for pediatricians with a few events for the families you serve as well.

Thank you for being a member and for all you do to improve pediatric outcomes in Nevada.

Be well,

Leann

Recent press activity includes Nevada AAP Chapter President Vanessa Slots, MD, FAAP talking about RSV with TV news in Reno and Nevada AAP Immediate Past President Pamela Greenspon, MD, FAAP talking about mask policy at CCSD.

Successfully working with the media requires planning, strategy, hard work, and allocation of resources. The AAP provides tools to help pediatricians ensure that journalists get the most accurate information possible on pediatric issues. Visit Working with the Media to learn more about the many resources from the AAP to support members wishing to work with the media.
