Mashpee Complete Streets Prioritization Plan
Request for Public Input
The Department of Public Works requests your participation in the development of a Complete Streets Prioritization Plan for the Town of Mashpee. The purpose of a Complete Street is to provide safe mobility and accessibility for all users of a road including pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders, not just motorists.
DPW is currently working on a Prioritization Plan with Stantec Consulting. This plan, which will be updated annually, will help the Town select projects for future funding, either from state or local sources.
The Town would like your input in identifying areas of concerns and potential projects for inclusion in the plan. For example, you might note need for a crosswalk, identify a roadway section where a new sidewalk should be constructed or request "Share the Road" signage for bicyclists on a specific road.

The Boys & Girls Club Has Openings for Summer Camp in August!
The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod is now registering children going into grades 1-9 for their socially-distanced summer day camp at the Boys & Girls Club for the month of August. The hours are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with staggered drop off and pick up times for each group.
“Despite masks and social distancing, the kids are having a blast,” said Ruth Provost, the Boys & Girls Club director. “We were surprised at how quickly they adjusted to the safety restrictions and went about the business of just being kids in the summer!”
The Boys & Girls Club Camp is licensed through the Board of Health and follows the EEC and DPH guidelines. Space is limited to 45 children due to the need to socially distance. While this isn’t the Boys & Girls Club’s normal camp experience, the counselors keep kids engaged and having fun while they are there.

Are you up for a Challenge?
Our Annual RUCK4HIT Relay Event has taken on a New Face due to COVID-19
Mark your calendars for The "Not your Ordinary RUCK4HIT Challenge Weekend"
September 26-27, 2020
Looking for something to train for this summer while supporting a great cause? Do you like to ruck, run, walk, bike, paddle, swim or hike? Create a team, join a team, or participate solo and help us to raise awareness and funds for Heroes In Transition!
All miles that you cover during the weekend will count towards the overall goal - to see how many miles we can collectively ruck, run, walk, bike, paddle, swim, or hike while wearing a ruck sack, backpack or something similar. " As every service member is forced to carry the burden of war during active service and beyond, carrying the ruck sack is symbolic of hardships endured and the perseverance required to complete the mission."

Highfield Hall & Gardens is pleased to announce the exhibition Ancestry + Legacy, featuring artists Jon Moore, Nate Olin, Jan Lhormer, Richard Neal, Jackie Reeves, Kimberly Sheerin, Jon Cira, and Hollis Engley, and Mark Chester. Ancestry + Legacy is a meditation on how past, present, and future are inextricably intertwined. Artists in the show contemplate how their own unique ancestries influence both their present lives and future legacies. This theme manifests itself in a vast range of media and subject matter, as each artist has a unique background and thus offers a different perspective. Ancestry + Legacy celebrates the diversity of expression and connections with the past. On both large and small scales, understanding history is essential to assess the current condition and how to best move forward into the future. Whereas some artists explore this connection on a personal level, whereas others delve into more global connections. Politics, heritage, and identity are common themes that can be found throughout the artworks in the show. Artist and curator Jon Moore invited nine Cape Cod based artists to consider what ancestry and legacy mean to them, and the result is a range of interpretations in several media: photography, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. He encourages reflection upon questions surrounding the relationship between politics and art, artists and their own cultures and communities, and ultimately what artists leave behind as their legacies.
The exhibition will be on view in the galleries at Highfield Hall from September 2nd through October 31st, 2020.

To the Steeple Street Music Academy community and beyond: In light of COVID-19 and the current guidelines, it is with heavy hearts that we have to cancel the live performances of the songwriting finalists at our annual Mash-ville Songwriter’s Showcase.
We are deeply committed to building community through music and the arts, but we are even more committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all…
We want to thank all of the talented musicians who submitted original music this year; the participation and dedication displayed means so much to us. It was VERY difficult to narrow down the top songs, but we did our best.
👏🏻With that said, please give a virtual round of applause to the finalists, in alphabetical order:
💥Aaron Jones for “Heartstrings”
💥Alex Brewer for “Rose of Saratoga”
💥Amalia Ververis of ‘Melic Moon’ for “Natural Thing”
💥Caitlyn Reen for ‘Rebecca’
💥Chris Dorsch for “Think of Me”
💥Chris Parkin for “I Can Wait”
💥Clara Signs for “I Don’t Know”
💥Gabe Straight for “Slow Dance”
💥Genevieve Sull for “Ship Out”
💥Haley Labdon for “Time Stands Still”
💥Ryan Barrett for “Small Town Somewhere”
💥Sydney Palmer for “Brain Bleed”
Because of their efforts, we will be recording clips of the finalists performing their original music and present them in a vlog on our YouTube channel.
Although the music won’t be live, we hope this still honors an incredible batch of songwriters, while also maintaining safety during this time.
Thank you so much for understanding and continuing to support us in our mission.
Be well, and play on,
𝒮𝓉𝑒𝑒𝓅𝓁𝑒 𝒮𝓉𝓇𝑒𝑒𝓉 𝒞𝓇𝑒𝓌
