Cape Cod Children’s Museum Re-opens with New Hours, Procedures and Safety Measures
Mashpee MA: Cape Cod Children’s Museum completed a soft opening last week and is now ready to announce their official re-opening. A collaboration of research and efforts by the staff and Board of Directors has produced a “new way to play” at the popular children’s museum.
The museum has instituted a number of safety protocols and procedures (the entire list can be found on their website). With help from the Association of Children’s Museums, government websites and following best practices of currently open children’s museums, we feel that we have put forth the best possible scenario for visiting the museum.
“The biggest changes people will see are the reduction in the number of visitors we allow, requiring masks on everyone over the age of two, and moving in one direction as “a group” through the museum. So far, everyone has been incredibly positive, cooperative and commenting on how thrilled they are for us to be open. We are also exploring some private rentals for small groups, the people in “your bubble” as we have come to call it.” – Executive Director, Lisa Bates
The mission of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum is to encourage hands-on experience that sparks creativity and imagination engaging children and families in playful learning. For a complete list of new procedures, protocols and opening times please visit capecodchildrensmuseum.org
The Cape Cod Children’s Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Museum is currently open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am – 1 pm, and is located at 577 Great Neck Road South, Mashpee, MA. Phone: 508-539-8788. For a complete list of procedures and protocols please visit www.capecodchildrensmuseum.org

"An optimist understands that life can be a bumpy road, but at least it is leading somewhere. They learn from mistakes and failures, and are not afraid to fail again."
-Harvey Mackay
Soprano's Ristorante would like to personally thank all our customers that have supported, encouraged, and pushed us to be the best we can be throughout these uncertain times. We appreciate you.

To the Steeple Street Music Academy community and beyond: In light of COVID-19 and the current guidelines, it is with heavy hearts that we have to cancel the live performances of the songwriting finalists at our annual Mash-ville Songwriter’s Showcase.
We are deeply committed to building community through music and the arts, but we are even more committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all…
We want to thank all of the talented musicians who submitted original music this year; the participation and dedication displayed means so much to us. It was VERY difficult to narrow down the top songs, but we did our best.
👏🏻With that said, please give a virtual round of applause to the finalists, in alphabetical order:
💥Aaron Jones for “Heartstrings”
💥Alex Brewer for “Rose of Saratoga”
💥Amalia Ververis of ‘Melic Moon’ for “Natural Thing”
💥Caitlyn Reen for ‘Rebecca’
💥Chris Dorsch for “Think of Me”
💥Chris Parkin for “I Can Wait”
💥Clara Signs for “I Don’t Know”
💥Gabe Straight for “Slow Dance”
💥Genevieve Sull for “Ship Out”
💥Haley Labdon for “Time Stands Still”
💥Ryan Barrett for “Small Town Somewhere”
💥Sydney Palmer for “Brain Bleed”
Because of their efforts, we will be recording clips of the finalists performing their original music and present them in a vlog on our YouTube channel.
Although the music won’t be live, we hope this still honors an incredible batch of songwriters, while also maintaining safety during this time.
Thank you so much for understanding and continuing to support us in our mission.
Be well, and play on,

August 7, 2020
Good evening,
Today, the Administration announced new initiatives to stop the spread of COVID-19 and other important updates on the Commonwealth’s reopening. You can read details in the press release, while key components are highlighted below. I’ve also included resources and reminders on SBA programs for your reference.
REVISED GATHERINGS ORDER
Effective Tuesday, August 11, the Baker-Polito Administration will revise the Executive Order on gatherings to reduce the cap on outdoor gatherings from 100 to 50 individuals. The inside gathering limit will remain at 25 people. Please note: this will now apply to both public and private spaces. Read the revised Executive Order for more details.
PHASE III STEP 2 POSTPONED INDEFINITELY
CHANGE TO RESTAURANT SECTOR-SPECIFIC PROTOCOLS
Restaurant protocols have been updated to state that alcoholic beverages may only be served for on-site consumption if accompanied by orders for food prepared on-site.
CROSS-AGENCY COVID ENFORCEMENT AND INTERVENTION TEAM
The Administration also announced a targeted cross-agency COVID Enforcement and Intervention Team that will be responsible for ramping up enforcement statewide and coordinating local intervention efforts at the local level in higher risk COVID-19 communities. Read more in the press release.
SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION UPDATES AND RESOURCES
- As you know, tomorrow (August 8) is the deadline for Paycheck Protection Program applications.
-
The SBA released a PPP Forgiveness FAQ to support borrowers seeking loan forgiveness this week.
-
The SBA Massachusetts District Office also released its Small Business Resource Guide, available online with tools and information to supports businesses in both business-as-usual and pandemic-related support.
-
A reminder that SCORE, MSBDC, the Center for Women & Enterprise, and others offer virtual counseling and workshops to support small businesses; find an SBA Resource Partner here.
-
If you have not done so already, sign up for Massachusetts District Office email updates, including information about upcoming sessions, here. (The August bulletin with scheduled events for the month is available here.)
From the beginning, we’ve said that every step of the Commonwealth’s reopening will be grounded in positive public health trends. As announced today, we’ve reached what, unchecked, could be an inflection point in the reopening and recovery process – and we all need to buckle down to hold the ground we’ve covered together.
Best,
Mike
