Welcome to the Habitat Virtual Build!
We are launching this Virtual Campaign to raise critical funds for our upcoming builds in Mashpee, Orleans, Harwich, and Falmouth. COVID-19 has made it difficult for us to incorporate all the amazing volunteers who are normally on our build sites, so we thought we could get volunteers and donors to help us virtually build a house.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 during the month of October. Here is where you can help. Please consider making a donation towards this effort and then, pass along this email to 10 friends and/or family members asking them to support Habitat Cape Cod. This is a great way to be part of building a house until we can incorporate all the volunteers again.
Each week we will send an update on the status of the build so you can see the house coming together.
We are excited to announce that we have an amazing gift of $10,000 to match the first $10,000 that is donated. So your gift will be doubled! Thank you to Marcia Dalbey and Joanne Verlinden for this incredible gift.

Fantasies in Fiber and Felt
Presented by Woodruff's Art Center at Woodruff's Art Center, Mashpee MA
Oct 1st through Nov 4th
Presenting one-of-a-kind exhibition of Helen Koehler’s felted images of seed pods, real and imagined.
For the past year artist Helen Koehler has been creating felted images of seed pods, real and imagined. Some are found in our landscape and some are from tropical South America. She is interested in the fragility of the natural world and how pods and seeds are symbols of hope and renewal.
Ms. Koehler has mastered the process of felting and spent the last year and half creating a one-of-a-kind collection of magnificent three dimensional wall hangings. Drawing from her imagination and fascination with nature, and employing her eye for composition and color, an awe-inspiring exhibit has come to fruition.

Mashpee Women’s Club October 20 luncheon features bestselling author Adrienne Brodeur who will discuss her award winning memoir WILD GAME: My Mother, Her Secret and Me. The book describes how 14 year old Adrienne became her mother's confidante, helping her to orchestrate an epic affair with her husband's best friend during her summers on Cape Cod. The book is a daughter's tale of living in the thrall of her magnetic, complicated mother and the chilling and long-lasting consequences of her complicity. The New York Times Book Review called the book "Exquisite and harrowing...The book is so gorgeously written and deeply insightful, and with a line of narrative tension that never slacks, from the first page to the last, that it's one you'll likely read in a single, delicious sitting." The story line is also so compelling that movie rights have been sold and a movie is now in development.
Adrienne Brodeur has had a career in publishing and literature, having founded an award winning fiction magazine, becoming a fiction editor at Harcourt (later HMH Book) and later Creative Editor and Executive Editor of a literary arts, nonprofit program. Adrienne splits her time between Cambridge and Cape Cod, where she lives with her husband and children.
The event will be under the Tent at the Popponessett Inn. Reservations must be received by October 13. Send checks to MWC, P.O. Box 1613, Mashpee MA 02649. Social Distancing and Masks are required. See more at www.mashpeewomensclub.org.

Developing Your Plan B Workshop
All Cape Cod businesses have been buffeted to one extent or another by the conditions caused by the pandemic. While they have adapted as well as possible by adopting changes to their methods and pursued whatever financial assistance may have been available, for many the plans just haven’t worked sufficiently well to persist. A Plan B is needed. The Community Development Partnership and SCORE Cape Cod and the Islands are joining together to host a workshop that will explore the elements of a Plan B. This will cover two principal concepts – first, business triage, or how to position yourself to generate sufficient cash flow to continue; and second, options to consider if generating sufficient cash flow to continue is not possible.

Breaking Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Wednesday, October 21 @ 3:00 p.m.
As Shakespeare said, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances…”
When we play our roles in our professional lives; our “roles” can be affected by insecurities, failures, and self-esteem issues. In this session, Andrew Botieri will review the Sandler Training I/R Theory… Identity vs. our Role.
Too many of us stay within our comfort zones and with the disruption of our lives with Covid-19, many of us will fall further into it…why? Because that is our mentality. Let’s breakout of our comfort zone and learn how to be consistent winners vs “at-leasters”…(at least I tried). There is a fine line between the two, learn to be a consistent winner.
Andrew Botieri is a Business Development & Sandler Sales Trainer for Greg Nanigian & Associates. With over 25 years and over 60,000 hours of sales coaching and sales management training he trains small, medium, and large organizations around the country. Andrew is also a published author (A Celebration of Life-A Story of Hope and A Miracle & The Power of Attitude) and featured Keynote speaker.
