Visiting Cape Cod This Summer

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting how we live, work and play
A statewide “Stay at Home” advisory issued in March is giving way to “Safer at Home” recommendations for Massachusetts. The new guidelines advise residents to continue staying home as much as possible to prevent spreading the coronavirus, even as some parts of the state begin to reopen.
|
|
COVID-19 raises many issues about what is allowed in our special place Cape Cod. The information evolves regularly, but here are some helpful resources to guide you along the way.
Working together, we can enjoy this special place, perhaps not in exactly the same way as in past years, and also keep each other safe.

Safer at Home?
For most of us the word HOME makes us feel safe, warm and happy.
But for many Cape Cod families, home means sharing one bedroom with your entire family and not knowing when or where the next move will be.
How can families thrive and how can children focus on “learning from home” as their living room is serving as their bedroom, classroom, dining room and parents’ work space.
Your donation today to our HOME IS EVERYTHING campaign will ensure another Cape Cod Family will be safer and more secure, owning their own home.
Please give and help make home ownership a realty for more Cape Cod families.

SEMBLANCE OF SUMMER
All of sudden, summer on Cape Cod is in full swing, and while we are still very much in the middle of this global pandemic and we all need to proceed with caution, we are once again able to enjoy some of our favorite Cape Cod activities - fun at the beach, dining out at favorite local restaurants, shopping our beloved Main Streets and even enjoying some activities and events that are able to happen as we enter the next phase of reopening.
We’ve put together a list of some things you can get up to out and about but also from the comfort of your home, and this month we’re also updating you on the Cape Cod Resilience Fund and announcing our new goal, sharing news of the recent work of the Cape Cod Young Professionals and encouraging support of our local arts, science and culture organizations that have been closed since mid-March.

This summer Highfield will present a series of virtual fundraiser dinner parties for you to enjoy from the comfort of your own home! Choose one evening or as many as you like.
Thursday, July 23, 2020 Dinner features guest speaker Joseph Carr from Joseph Carr Wines who will lead guests through a wine tasting. In 2009, New York Times writer Eric Asimov proclaimed Joseph Carr a “producer to watch,” ranking his wines alongside the likes of Far Niente, Clos du Val, Heitz, Grgich Hills and Rubicon. Influenced by the wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy, Joseph Carr’s winemaking philosophy is balance, sophistication and approachability; an old-world style producer, but distinctly Californian, This evening The North Falmouth Cheese Shop will provide a cheese pairing to complement the wines.

Resources for Mashpee Businesses
|

While you may be facing uncertainty, there is one thing you can be certain of: SCORE is here for you.
During these difficult times, everyone is talking about survival, uncertainty, and loss—loss of revenue, relationships, and resources. It’s normal and human to feel fear and uncertainty, to wonder about the future of your business.
At SCORE, we get it. And we’re also here to remind you that you are stronger than you think and more powerful than you know. You are a small business owner, the person who dared to ask what if? The leader who had the courage to take that first step to build a business and a future you believe in.
We know that disasters and economic downturns bring unprecedented challenges. But what if the worst thing that ever happened to your business was the catalyst to unlock your courage once again? What if the obstacle you are experiencing right now is your opportunity to grow stronger, more agile, and more successful than you’ve ever been?
What if you could do more than just survive? What if you could thrive?
