This column is a unique opportunity for our department to connect, share information, and foster an open dialogue with the incredible community we proudly serve.
From the Desk of Fire Chief Adrian Garcia
In this inaugural edition, I want to extend a warm greeting to all members of our community, expressing my commitment to enhancing communication between the Mission Fire Department and the residents we are honored to protect. We want to highlight the importance of creating a space for dialogue, where information flows freely, and our community feels informed and involved.
Sharing Information
“Fireline Chronicles” aims to be your go-to source for updates on department initiatives, safety tips, and the inspiring stories of our firefighters who go above and beyond the call of duty. I recognize the power of information and believe that an informed community is a safer, more resilient community.
Community Engagement
Our department is more than just a group of firefighters; we are integral part of the community we serve. We emphasize the importance of building strong ties with the residents of Mission. Look forward to insights into our community outreach programs, events, and opportunities for you to get involved. Together, we can create a safer and more connected Mission.
Department Transparency
In the spirit of openness and transparency, I discuss the department’s commitment to keeping you informed about our operations, challenges, and successes. Through “Fireline Chronicles,” we invite you to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Mission Fire Department and gain a deeper understanding of how we work to keep you safe.
Looking Ahead
As we embark on this exciting journey with our department’s “Fireline Chronicles,” we encourage you to actively engage with us. Share your thoughts, questions, and ideas. This column is not just a one-way street; it’s a platform for dialogue and collaboration.
We are committed to evolving and growing as a department, and “Fireline Chronicles” is a step towards building a stronger, more resilient Mission. Stay tuned for more insights, and let’s keep the fire of communication burning bright.

Mission City Attorney Appointed to Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee
MISSION, Texas – On December 29, 2023, the Texas Supreme Court entered a court order appointing Victor A. Flores to serve on the Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee. Flores is one of only 52 lawyers (Texas has over 100,000 licensed attorneys), including many of the state’s finest jurists, selected to serve on this prestigious committee.
Commencing his three-year term this January 2024, Flores brings a wealth of expertise as the City Attorney of Mission since his appointment in January 2023 and over ten years of experience serving various public entities across Texas as in-house legal counsel.
Flores joins Roger Hughes and Eduardo Rodriguez as the only attorneys south of San Antonio, Texas, to serve on the Committee this term.
In this new role, Flores, along with the other members, will assist the Supreme Court in the continuing study, review, and development of rules of administration and procedure for Texas courts, taking into consideration the rules of other courts in the United States. The Committee drafts rules as directed by the Texas Supreme Court; solicits, summarizes, and reports to the Court the views of the bar and the public on court rules and procedures, and makes recommendations for change.
The City of Mission takes immense pride in Victor A. Flores’ appointment. Flores, a dedicated public servant, is a testament to the caliber of individuals who contribute to the Mission community.
