Vanessa Nichole Hernandez Named Vice President of Membership Development at Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce


Mission, TX – The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the appointment of Vanessa Nichole Hernandez as Vice President of Membership Development.


Vanessa Nichole Hernandez, affectionately known as "Nikki," brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to driving economic growth and fostering community collaboration. With a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Texas-Pan American College of Arts and Humanities, Nikki has demonstrated her leadership capabilities in various professional capacities.


Prior to joining the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce, Vanessa served as a Constituent Services Representative and Outreach Coordinator for South Texas Congressional Member Henry Cuellar (D-TX-28). Her tenure in this role equipped her with invaluable skills in navigating bureaucratic processes and advocating for positive change within the community.


Vanessa's passion for economic development and entrepreneurship led her to work with J.L. Powers & Associates as a consultant, where she facilitated business development opportunities for commercial and retail industries. Her strategic insights and innovative approaches have made her a respected figure in the business community.


In her new position, she aims to inspire entrepreneurship and drive sustainable development in Mission and the Rio Grande Valley.

Mission Chamber is 'All Fore the Kids' with its Annual Charitable Golf Tournament 

Mission Citrus Golf Classic 


MISSION, TX - The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) is calling all golf enthusiasts and our local business community to mark your calendars and join us on Friday, May 3, 2024, for our Annual Mission Citrus Golf Tournament being held at the Shary Municipal Golf Club located on 2201 N. Mayberry St. Mission, TX.


This year’s tournament the GMCC plans to provide a fun and celebratory experience for the participants. The 18-hole, 3-man team Florida scramble-style golf tournament will help generate funds and assist the GMCC to provide continued support and services to the local business community. A portion of the proceeds will be used to assist Mission CISD’s students, by providing necessities and supplies for the upcoming school year to families and students.


"The partnership between Mission CISD and GMCC has been an ongoing effort to help support local students. This year, the GMCC welcomes back the Title Sponsors and partners of the event: our very gracious and generous friends at Cano & Sons Trucking and Millennium Copier Systems and Supplies. “Mr. Juan & Mrs. Sara Cano are wonderful business leaders who continuously go above and beyond to give back in an effort to strive at improving the quality of life in our community. We thank them for all they do," said GMCC President & CEO, Brenda Enriquez. "We look forward to a fun and inviting tournament, with the invaluable support from both Cano & Sons Trucking and Millennium Copier Systems and Supplies as our esteemed title sponsors, enhancing our commitment to community development and education."


Registrations are open starting with a $500 team of 3’s which include course fees, (1) golf cart, gift bags, breakfast, and lunch. According to the latest data from the UTRGV Data and Information Systems Center, Winter Texans and their visiting family members contribute a whopping $1.9 billion to our region's economy each year.
