2019 AEDCE Scholarship Info

As one of the benefits of membership in AEDCE, a limited number of scholarships are available for members seeking to further their professional education & training.

For 2019, AEDCE is accepting applications to assist members in attending:

  • US Chamber Institute for Organization Management (IOM)
  • MAKO Conference
  • Economic Development Institute (EDI)
  • International Economic Development Council Annual Conference
  • Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Annual Convention

Awards will be made in March and can be applied retroactively to the Winter session of IOM.

To be considered for a scholarship award, please submit the application by February 28, 2019 .

Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course (MSBEDC)

Registration is now open for the 2019 Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course to be held April 1 - 4 in Little Rock. Fully accredited by IEDC, this course is designed for community leaders who participate in the process of community economic development at all scales–local, regional, state, and federal.



The course includes elected officials, government agency staff, planners, utility and transportation personnel, business leaders, real estate developers, other community volunteers, educators, and chamber or economic development organization professionals and their staff.

Scholarships are also available to Arkansas residents so please visit the course website to apply.

MAKO Conference Registration Now Open

The  MAKO Conference  is an annual conference designed for chamber of commerce professionals from Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas & Oklahoma. This four-state regional conference will be held April 14 - 16, 2019 in Branson, Missouri.

Arkansas Economic Development Foundation Luncheon

AEDF will hold a luncheon on Wednesday, January 30th in Little Rock at the Statehouse Convention Center. The featured speaker will be John Furner, CEO of Sam's Club. More details to be released soon!

Arkansas State Chamber/AIA Annual Legislative Reception

The 2019 Legislative Session is slated to begin on January 14th and the Arkansas State Chamber/AIA will hold its Annual  BIG TENT  Legislative Reception on  Tuesday, January 22nd  from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm in Little Rock (State Chamber parking lot).

There is  no cost  to attend this event and it's a great way to kick-off the legislative session! Make plans now to be there!

Arkansas Festivals & Events Association Conference

The 35th Annual AFEA Conference & Trade Show is coming to the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs on January 30 & 31, 2019. We are overly excited to spend 2 days in the spa city with festival and event coordinators and other participating businesses and organizations. During this time, we will be learning how to grow and improve the impacts of events, expanding our networks within the industry, and having some FUN along the way!

Applications Being Accepted for 2019 National Small Business Week Awards


The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting applications for National Small Business Week awards as well as District-level awards. Please consider nominating a qualified small business from your community for this prestigious national award.

The application deadline is Jan. 9, 2019.
