Small Business Administration & AEDCE Disaster Preparedness Webinar

The US Small Business Administration in conjunction with AEDCE is hosting a  FREE  webinar on Wednesday, February 19th for AEDCE members and their local chamber/EDO members to help them devise a plan and get the resources they need to incorporate into their disaster planning.

This webinar will equip you and your members with the tools they need to have at the ready when and if they face a natural or man-made disaster.

Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course
April 6 - 9, Little Rock
Accredited by the International Economic Development Council, the Mid-South BEDC is designed for community leaders who participate in the process of community & economic development at all scales–local, regional, state, and federal. The course includes elected officials, government agency staff, planners, utility and transportation personnel, business leaders, real estate developers, other community volunteers, educators, and chamber or economic development organization professionals and their staff.

A limited number of tuition scholarships are available. Complete the scholarship application by 2/28 for priority consideration.

The MAKO Conference brings together chamber professionals from a 4-state region offering personal and professional development resources through keynote presentations, specialized conference sessions, networking opportunities with other chamber pros across the region.

2020 Arkansas Economic Development Foundation Luncheon - April 21st

The Arkansas Economic Development Foundation (AEDF) will host a luncheon on April 21st in Little Rock featuring the President & CEO of Georgia-Pacific, Christian Fischer.

AEDF exists to to support existing industry and attract jobs and new business to Arkansas. This is accomplished through many activities including research, site visits, and recruitment support through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC).

Be on the lookout next week for the 2020 Chamber Operations Survey. This survey is being conducted by AEDCE utilizing Qualtrics and the Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI).

All survey responses will be kept confidential and only aggregate survey data will be reported.

Five-Year Consolidated Plan for Program Years 2020-2024 - Focus Group & Public Input Session
The Arkansas Consolidated Plan Advisory Committee is beginning the process of preparing a new Five-Year Consolidated Plan for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2025. The committee has scheduled a Public Input Session and two Focus Group Meetings to obtain citizen comments to determine the priorities for use of grant funds during this five-year period.
During these meetings state agencies will obtain public input regarding the allocation of approximately $32.8 million in State CDBG, HOME, NHTF, ESG, and HOPWA funds for the next fiscal year beginning in July 2020, as well as set priorities for the next Five-Year Plan.
