Caroline Spillane CDir | Tuesday, 1 October 2024

Dear Anne,

I am delighted to announce our flagship event, Leading in Governance 2024, taking place on October 24th at the Aviva Stadium. We have selected a distinguished panel of leaders and governance experts to explore the latest trends and challenges in corporate governance. The impressive lineup of speakers includes Nick Wallis, Tom Moran CDir, Dr. Patricia Scanlon, and Dr. Tony Holohan among others. Registration is now open, and we invite you to secure your place now.

In this edition of our ezine, you will find information about our upcoming programmes, events, and resources tailored specifically for our members. We are pleased to include a thought leadership article by Brian Honan, CEO of BH Consulting, discussing the imminent NIS2 Directive - the first EU-wide cybersecurity legislation set to be implemented in Ireland this month. This article is essential reading for all directors. We also include valuable resources from the NCSC, complementary to this topic. This ezine also carries our response to Euronext Dublin's consultation on the Irish Corporate Governance Code, which concluded over the summer, with the final code published last week.

Lastly, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new colleague, Gillian Roddie, who joins us as the Learning and Education Manager. Gillian will collaborate closely with Sheila Byrne, Head of Learning and Education and the wider IoD Ireland team.

Best wishes,

Caroline Spillane CDir

The final Euronext Corporate Governance Code was published on 24th September 2024. The new Code applies to financial years commencing on or after 1st January 2025 for Irish incorporated companies with an equity listing on Euronext Dublin. However, if a company is dual-listed in both Ireland and the UK, it has the option to either follow the Code or the UK Code under Euronext Dublin listing rules.
