Dear Skillman Church Family,

As you know, we are approaching a vote of church members on whether Skillman will join The Hills Church of Christ. That vote is currently scheduled to occur after worship services on Sunday, May 15. If satisfaction of all legal requirements requires this date to be adjusted, we will do so and let everyone know as soon as possible.

Please find the full voting member list here. A copy can also be picked up at the church office at 3014 Skillman St.

The Skillman Elders have relied on and reasonably interpreted the church Bylaws (here) to determine the individuals who meet the definition of “member” for voting purposes.

All members are encouraged to vote in-person at the church building after worship on May 15. Voting will also be permitted by mail, subject to several requirements to ensure integrity of the process. If you believe you have been left off the above list, please send an email on your behalf to elders@skillmanchurch.org by Tuesday of next week (May 3). The Elders or Elizabeth Alvarez Bingham (our voting administrator, who explained the voting process at this week’s Town Hall Meeting) will respond by Wednesday, May 4. This timing is important to accommodate both methods of voting. The voting process was described in detail at this week’s Town Hall meeting, and a written description will also be provided soon.

The Elders’ recommendation to join The Hills will make us a vibrant, growing church again, right here in this building. 

We have always been known for teaching the Bible and bringing people to Christ. The Hills is a strong, well-known and predictable church partner that has made firm commitments related to the future of our people, building and other assets. This is our best opportunity to worship together, teach more people about Jesus, and stay true to Skillman’s heritage and mission.
