It's Membership Renewal Season!
|
|
|
|
It's that time of year when ATEC invoices invade your inbox. It's also our opportunity to look back at what we've accomplished (and new initiatives on the horizon) as a way of justifying your continued support!
ATEC is proud to boast a very strong renewal rate year over year, more than 95% of members return annually. Thanks to that and the influx of new members over the past several years, the trade association continues on a strong growth trajectory:
- Part 147 involvement is at an all-time high--156 of the 196 FAA-certificated A&P programs are members of ATEC.
- Industry involvement is growing, over the last three years corporate membership has increased by 15%.
- Last year we introduced a new membership category to recognize the contributions made by aviation programs that do not hold part 147 certification. These members largely represent high school programs and is a growing market to support pipeline growth.
A stable and growing membership means more resources to support council initiatives. ATEC's board of directors is continually guiding strategic initiatives to ensure the council is furthering its purpose to promote and support aviation technician education, to include:
-
Advocacy. ATEC is the voice of aviation technician education, its regulatory and legislative advocacy advances an industry-focused aviation technician workforce agenda. This year we saw a great example of the power of our coalition with smooth implementation of the industry-drafted new part 147 and incorporation of all our legislative priorities in the draft FAA reauthorization bills.
-
Awareness. The Choose Aerospace aviation maintenance curriculum—created in partnership with ATEC—is being deployed across the country to drive more students into aviation technical careers. Choose Aerospace is bringing on new resources this year to help companies and schools take advantage of the resource to grow student populations.
-
Information. The ATEC newsletter and member alerts ensure you are always in the know. Membership also supports publication of the ATEC Journal, a compilation of peer-reviewed papers on teaching techniques and research, and the Pipeline Report, a compilation of data to support recruitment and program development. This year we are excited to partner with Oliver Wyman to produce the Pipeline Report, the 2023 version will publish next month.
-
Tools and Resources. Developed through member collaboration, the council creates tools to help educators tackle the day-to-day. This past year ATEC created several resources to assist with transition to the new rule. Check out the online webinars, learning guides, and templates available only to members.
-
Awards and Scholarship. Each year the community recognizes outstanding leadership and achievement for one educator and one student through the Ivan D. Livi and James Rardon awards. All members are welcome to nominate individuals for the prestigious award. ATEC members are eligible for the scholarships offered by Choose Aerospace.
-
Affinity Programs. Through our partner organizations, ATEC members receive discounts on products and services in support of aviation technician education.
-
Events and Networking. Members receive discounted rates to the Annual Conference and Washington Fly-in, and free registration to regional outreach meetings.
Two new initiatives will receive heightened focus this year: 1) integration of a new association management system which will give members more opportunity to connect and network and 2) unveiling of ATEC Academy which will provide professional development opportunities for our instructor workforce. Stay tuned!
We thank you in advance for your continued support of the trade association through membership. If you haven't already, you should be receiving your invoice for 2024 membership dues this week. To verify billing contact information, please email tarra.ruttman@atec-amt.org.
