National Physician Suicide Awareness Day
Today is National Physician Suicide Awareness Day.

NPSADay is a reminder and call to action to help everyone prevent physician suicide, including health organizations, health systems, hospitals, medical societies and practices. It’s a time to talk — and to act — so physicians’ struggles don’t become mental health emergencies.
WMS is committed to raising awareness of the physician suicide epidemic and galvanizing physicians, their colleagues and their loved ones to create a culture of wellbeing that prioritizes reducing burnout, safeguarding job satisfaction and viewing seeking mental health services as a sign of strength. We want you to join us! Visit NPSAday.org to learn more about ways to take action on #NPSADay, and use #NPSADay to spread the word today.
Monoclonal Antibody Availability
On September 14, 2021, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services notified the WY Department of Health that providers will no longer be able to order COVID-19 monoclonal antibodies directly from AmerisourceBergen.

Beginning September 14, 2021, HHS will determine each state’s weekly amount of monoclonal antibody products based on COVID-19 case burden and monoclonal antibody utilization. WDH will then allocate to providers within Wyoming. HHS has made this change due to a substantial increase in the utilization of monoclonal antibody drugs necessitating this measure to ensure consistent and continuing availability across the country.
Pneumonic Plague Health Advisory
On September 15, 2021, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) was notified of a case of human pneumonic plague in a northern Fremont County resident. The individual had exposure to ill pet cats. This is the second case of human pneumonic plague reported in Wyoming and the seventh plague case acquired in Wyoming since 1978.
