The 2020-2021 Wyoming Leaders in Medicine Cohort graduated last weekend in Laramie, WY.
WMS would like to extend a big congratulations to the 2020-2021 WLM class!! 2020 was a tough year to be in a leadership class, but also maybe one of the most pivotal. While some of the travel was limited, the lessons throughout the course held deep significance in a year wrought with more change than any other in recent memory. We are so proud of the work this group did, and we look forward to their continued growth and development in the future through the WLM alum program.

WDH Seeks Physician Input
WDH seeks input on behavioral health bill with 3 open listening sessions.
HB38 - Community behavioral health - priority populations was signed into law as HEA56 during the recent Legislative Session.

In addition to defining what types of individuals should be considered priority populations for services contracted through the State General Funded system of Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Centers in Wyoming, Section 3 of the Act requires the Department of Health to flesh out the plan going forward, with the participation of affected stakeholders.

As part of this effort, WDH would like to invite WMS members to attend a series of three (3) public meetings over the summer.

Meeting 1 - Casper, WY
Tuesday, May 4th 2-4 pm

The goal of the meeting is to provide an introduction and solicit initial thoughts on the redesign from the public. We would encourage anyone who intends to show up in person to get vaccinated against COVID. Limited virtual participation will also be enabled through Google Meet:

Please consider nominating a deserving doctor for the 2021 Physician of the Year award. It is a special honor that the Wyoming Medical Society is proud to facilitate within in our state.

The Wyoming Department of Family Services, with assistance from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, is administering the state’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), a U.S. Treasury initiative passed through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and expanded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 - AND WE NEED YOUR HELP GETTING THE WORD OUT! Please share this information with any patients that might benefit from this assistance.
All payments received, either directly by landlords or utility providers, or by tenants will be used to satisfy each individual renter’s approved costs included in their ERAP applications. Note: A renter must meet all four eligibility requirements to be eligible for the program.
