The Wyoming Medical Society (WMS) called for members to nominate any eligible physicians interested in serving on the WMS board of trustees as a trustee at large to represent county medical societies with a vacancy. Thank you to everyone who submitted names this year. Above is the slate of officers and statewide elected trustees-at-large for the 2022-2023 year.

WMS Bylaws require that this list of nominees be submitted to the membership no later than April 1 of each year. Ballots based on this slate will be submitted to the membership at the end of the month with the election closing on May 20, 2021. WMS will again be using an independent third-party accounting firm to facilitate this year's election process.

If you would prefer to have a ballot mailed to you, please let us know no later than Friday, April 15th. You can email info@wyomed.org or call the WMS office at 307-635-2424 to request your ballot.

WMS Annual Meeting

Save the date for the 2022 WMS, WWAMI & partner specialty society Annual Meeting to join medical colleagues from across the state for Wyoming’s Premiere Educational Showcase, Vendor Expo and Black Tie Gala celebrating 25 years of Wyoming joining the University of Washington WWAMI program.

The meeting will be held October 28-30, 2022 in Laramie at the Gateway Center and Hilton Garden Inn. The WMS Annual Meeting has a long-standing tradition of quality lectures on timely topics to attendees while encouraging medical providers to network and foster new friendships.

Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy

The Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy will be transitioning to the Bamboo Health (formerly known as Appriss Health) PMP AWARxE platform in the first half of 2022.

Bamboo Health provides its prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) platform to 44 of the 54 state and US territory PDMPs, as well as the Military Health System.

The anticipated go-live date for the Board to transition to Bamboo Health is July 1, 2022. The Board will provide more information as it progresses through the migration process, such as dates when users may register with the new platform, training resources, and user guides.

Please monitor the email you supplied to the Board of Pharmacy for your controlled substance registration (not the email used for your WORx account) and the Board’s website (https://pharmacyboard.wyo.gov/) to stay up to date.

Cigna-Participating Providers

Changes in drug formulary effective April 1, 2022

Effective April 1, 2022,* we will make changes to our drug formularies to help ensure our customers have access to affordable and quality health care.

The formulary changes are outlined below:

Albuterol - We will remove the authorized generic of Ventolin from our commercial and Cigna Total Savings formularies.
Thyroid hormone replacement - We will remove ARMOURTHYROID from our commercial formularies and WP Thyroid from our commercial and Cigna Total Savings formularies. We will remove TIROSINT, TIROSINT-SOL, and the authorized generic of TIROSINT from our Standard and Performance formularies.

What this means to you and your patients with Cigna coverage

Beginning April 1, 2022, customers who continue filling prescriptions for drugs that are no longer on the formulary may experience higher out-of-pocket costs. We encourage you to work with your patients to find covered, clinically appropriate alternative medications before this date.
