The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) published their proposed supplemental budget request which includes another round of significant budget reductions. This round of cuts, unlike the ones taken earlier this year, will be reviewed by the Joint Appropriations Committee of the Legislature and ultimately debated by the full body in the 2021 Legislative Session.
The WDH biennium budget totals just under $2 billion when combining general, federal and other funds. The Step Two reductions put in effect this past August combined with the proposed Step Three reductions outlined in the supplemental budget total $181,046,061. WDH requested to add back in just over $10 million to be allocated out of other funds which was reduced in the Governor's recommendations to $2,097,183 to be taken entirely from the reinstatement of tobacco funds that were removed during the 2020 Budget Session.
