Special Legislative Session
The Wyoming Legislature will convene for a Special Session May 15-16.
Legislation being considered during the special session includes:
  • Emergency appropriation - COVID-19 funds
  • Emergency government action - COVID-19
  • Emergency bugeting - COVID-19
  • COVID-19 business relief programs
  • Coronavirus immunity provisions
WMS Summer Board Meeting - June 13, 2020
WMS is led by a 27-member board of trustees. To learn more about our board CLICK HERE . To submit a topic for consideration, please contact your county medical society trustee, a member of the WMS executive committee or a member of the WMS staff at info@wyomed.org no later than June 5, 2020.

Immediately following the WMS Board of Trustees meeting, the full membership will be invited to join the board for a virtual statewide membership meeting. WMS leadership will present the 2020 WMS budget, provide membership updates, and more.
Wyoming Leaders In Medicine
Now accepting applications for Wyoming Leaders in Medicine 2020-2021
2020 has brought tremendous challenges to the healthcare field, and now, more than ever, Wyoming needs impactful Leaders in Medicine.

The academy helps Wyoming physicians grow their leadership skills and foster relationships that will last a lifetime, and in just 3 short years since its inception the impact of the Leaders in Medicine program can be felt across WY.
The leadership course has provided me more than just some education on leadership or new skills to use as a leader, it has provided me insight into myself and the complexities of person to person interactions.  I am more effective not only in my workplace, but in my home!

Tuesday Provider Connect Moves to Monthly Meeting
WMS Provider Connect moves sessions to the first Tuesday of each month over the noon hour.
The weekly WMS Provider Connect Zoom calls have been beneficial for physicians and PAs across the state. Medicine has come together to participate in discussions about healthcare and collaborate to navigate the COVID-19 landscape.

As healthcare continues to guide patients through the next phases of this pandemic response, the Medical Society sees a distinct benefit in continuing the conversations. However, we will be transitioning the Provider Connect Calls from a weekly schedule to monthly. Join us the first Tuesday of each month, starting June 2. As we move forward, these calls will not have to remain focused on COVID-19, rather what's important to medicine at the time.

WMS Election
Please cast your ballot for the 2020-2021 WMS Officer Election
For election security, WMS is running the election through the third party vendor McGee, Hearne, and Paiz, LLP, an accounting firm in Cheyenne. MHP is using the election platform Election Runner to conduct the election.

In order to cast your ballot, you should have received an email from noreply@electionrunner.com . You will need the unique Voter ID and Voter Key to participate in the election. If you have questions regarding the ballot, please do not hesitate to contact Courtney Ward with MHP at  cward@mhpllp.com .

Ballots must be submitted no later than May 27.
