From the National CCAA's President
Dear National CCAA Member,

I hope this email finds you healthy and well. While this summer looks different for all of us, professionally and personally, I hope it affords you some time to recharge and retreat after these trying few months. The Board of Directors recently held our June Board Meeting (via Zoom, of course). Even though we met virtually, it was wonderful to interact with dedicated Catholic college admission colleagues and to share the highs and lows of what we’ve all been experiencing during the pandemic. Our gathering reaffirmed the importance of the work we do--promoting Catholic higher education and its corresponding values of compassion, equity and social justice. These have never been more critical to our country and the world at large.

Here are two important updates from the meeting that I want to share:

2020-21 Membership
As I mentioned in a previous email, we have extended the 2019-20 membership to August 30. Details about 2020-21 membership, which will run from September 1, 2020 to August 30, 2021 will be emailed to you in August. Like many other organizations, we have had to pivot and adapt to the challenges and limitations of the pandemic. We are pleased that the annual membership fee will remain the same for the upcoming cycle ($1500 for schools above 1000 FTE; $500 for schools with less than 1000 FTE). This fee has not changed since 2010, yet we have progressively added more benefits and value to your membership.

Our membership benefits for the upcoming cycle will include valuable recruitment efforts that will be flexible, budget-friendly, efficient, and unique. It is our hope that all of our members will be able to take advantage of these benefits as you undoubtedly make changes in your own recruitment strategy this year. To best align these benefits with your needs, we are asking our members to complete a brief, 5-minute survey by Thursday, July 9th.

National CCAA Presence at the NACAC Conference
Our organization has traditionally had a large presence at the NACAC Conference each year, as it is the best opportunity for us to connect with members and secondary/independent counselors. In addition to having an exhibit booth and moderating the Catholic Educators SIG session, we also host our Annual Membership Meeting and the Catholic Colleges Reception, the highlight of NACAC.

While NACAC has not made a formal decision about the national conference, we have nevertheless determined that hosting our National CCAA events in-person would be unwise. This was a difficult decision to make, as our best work involves connecting with colleagues in person. Information about an alternate, virtual membership meeting will be shared with membership details in August.

Although the next several months will look different, we are excited for new opportunities to promote our member schools and connect with secondary/independent counselors. As we creatively plan for alternate recruitment options this fall, National CCAA aims to provide benefits that will fill recruitment gaps and help you reach more prospective students and parents, in a cost effective way.

Please reach out to me or our Executive Director, Joyce Masek , with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued support of our organization and mission, both of which are even more important than ever.

Take care,
