Caledonia Nordic Ski Club Membership Survey

We are excited to announce the launch of our 2023/24 Membership Survey, designed to gather your thoughts and suggestions to help shape the future of our club.

This survey aims to:

  • Check in on our current levels of service
  • Identify what we’re doing well and areas for improvement
  • Respond to the changing needs of our community (population growth, climate change, etc.)
  • Use your feedback to help set new strategic priorities

The survey will remain open until 11:45 pm on October 31, 2024. We may extend this window if needed to ensure we receive enough responses. The Board will summarize the results and share a report with members before December 31, 2024.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback to the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club (CNSC) Board! Your input is invaluable, and we appreciate your time!

Paved Trail Progress!

It has been a busy Fall and we are pleased to share that the Paved Trail Project is moving along smoothly, and we expect to see asphalt on the ground by the end of this week! As we move forward, it's important to clarify that these paved trails will be multi-use, offering an inclusive space for various activities.

Our Trails Committee has been tasked with developing a multi use policy to ensure all users can enjoy the trails safely. Key elements will include Training/Competition Only Use for Roller skiing. They will report back with their potential plans in the near future. Additionally, the committee is working on re-routing some sections of the singletrack to minimize dangerous crossings with the paved trails, keeping everyone’s safety a top priority.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support!

Fatbiking Pilot Project

I am excited about this one (SUPEREARLYBIRD10). We are thrilled to announce that the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is working to incorporate Fat Biking into our facility with an exciting pilot project!

In collaboration with the Prince George Cycling Club and our Trails Committee, we will be identifying the best singletrack trails available for fat biking and exploring how to seamlessly integrate this new activity into our trail network.

We will provide regular updates as we roll out this initiative and work to create more opportunities for winter recreation at the club!

Update on Proposed Bylaws

We are pleased to inform you that our Bylaw committee is currently finalizing policy drafts, which will soon be ready for Board review. Once approved, we plan to share these drafts with the membership for your feedback. In order to allow ample time for thoughtful engagement and input, we do not intend to present these drafts for a vote before the AGM (Wed, Oct 23, 7pm, Main Lodge).

We value your voice and are committed to ensuring a transparent and inclusive process. Watch for details in the Newsletters on how you can participate in upcoming engagement opportunities!

If you have any questions of comments related to this, please feel free to email: vp@caledonianordic.com
