RE:  Compact Training Resources - Education and Awareness

“The mission of the MIC3 Training Committee is to respond to the needs of the various audiences to provide accurate, current, and customized content about the Compact for use by Commissioners, schools, families, and military-connected stakeholders.” 

Under the Compact statute and by-laws, member states are directed to coordinate education, training, and public awareness regarding the Compact's implementation and operation. For this reason, the training program is continually evolving to meet the needs of member states. The constant turnover in education and military personnel has underscored the need to continue educating local education authorities and military families on the available tools and resources that promote awareness and understanding of the Compact.

The Training Committee is committed to equipping Commissioners, designees, and Ex-officio members with the tools and resources necessary to educate our school districts and military families on the Compact.

Awareness and Promotion

• To raise awareness of the Compact, disseminate the online "What is MIC3" One-Pager to districts/schools at the beginning and end of the school year. 
• Raise awareness and promote the Compact using practices outlined in the Good, Better, Best: State Best Practices on Implementing the Compact document with the aid of Commission tools and resources. 

Training and Resources

• Commission Training: Supporting Success, One Move at a Time (flyer) – This flyer outlines and explains the types and formats of training provided by the Commission.
• MIC3Training.net – The Commission's online, self-paced training portal that allows stakeholders to access the Compact 101 Training course anytime.
• Set stakeholders up for success on MIC3Training.net by providing the portal's FAQ.
• Promote MIC3Training.net using the marketing toolkit.
• MIC3's Events Calendar – The calendar provides the monthly virtual training sessions the Commission facilitates and contains registration links.
• 2025 Compact 101 Training (graphic) – Use this social media graphic to promote the monthly virtual training sessions.
• Guión de Formación Convenio 101 – Compact 101 Training provided in Spanish.
• Guía para padres, funcionarios escolares y administradores públicos – The Guide for Parents, School Officials, and Public Administrators in Spanish for download.
• The MIC3 Brochure is also available in Spanish for download.
• Compact 101 Training (ASL) – Compact 101 Training provided in American Sign Language.
• MIC3 Print Resources – Provide the guide, brochure, and rules book, which are always available to download the digitally or order free hard copies online.
• Toolkits – Commissioner, State Council, Schools, Parents
• Month of the Military Child Toolkit – Celebrate military kids in April using ideas and resources in the updated Purple Up! Toolkit to plan our events and highlight how your state supports military families.

The Training Committee is always looking for new opportunities to support the Commission.
