We need additional members. We need you! Join a wonderful group of people who are dedicated to the long-term growth and success of our church. If you have an interest or skills in fundraising, event organizing, or special projects we would like to talk with you. Please email Claire Cowan, Finance Chair, for more information!

Chair Yoga & Meditation

Join us on June 24th at 6pm for a discussion and book signing with author Isaac Kinzambi. In his book, Kinzambi shares his perspective on life, as he believes there is more to our experiences than what we say, think, see, hear, or touch. We are more than our physical appearance and financial or intellectual limitations. We are the possibility that can make the impossible possible. Isaac Kinzambi was born in Africa. He is an inspirational speaker, poet, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management. You can order his book on Amazon at the link here or purchase it at the event!

Join The

Membership Team!

This small, but mighty, group is open to new volunteers to help plan community engagement events. We look forward to an exciting new year. Join us to organize fun activities and new ways to connect with members and friends of First Parish. For more information, please email Membership Coordinator Laurie Hasty or committee Chair Emily Bolt.

Wayside Pulpit

Attend General Assembly!

General Assembly is the annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists, where we conduct business of the Association, explore the theological underpinnings of our faith, and lean fully into our mission and principles. Please join us Wednesday, June 21 through Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and/or online for this 5-day immersive experience where we participate in inspirational worship services and informative workshops, reconvene with friends and colleagues, and explore our bustling exhibit hall. GA is an unforgettable experience for the thousands of UUs who attend. Meet us online, or in Pittsburgh, and you’ll leave with renewed energy and innovative ideas to share with your congregation and community-at-large! For more information, contact our Membership Coordinator, Laurie Hasty or Governing Board President, Taryn Friedman.

Is Stewardship In Your

Long-Term Financial Plans?

The Trustees of First Parish gratefully acknowledge the bequest of the late Nancy McKusick. First Parish was remembered by Nancy and her husband, former Maine Chief Justice Vincent McKusick, who were long time members of the church, in their estate plans. Such legacy gifts are an important source of lasting support for us. If you would like to know more about ways you can make a future gift, please email Austin Farrar, President of the Trustees.

Online Chalice Circles

If you are interested in participating in a Chalice group, but find it difficult to get to in-person meetings, there is at least one group that meets by Zoom and would welcome new members. Lots of warmth, growth, and connection is shared with confidentiality and kindness in our interesting topical conversations. If you haven't used Zoom, we can arrange an in-person or on-line coaching session. Please email Barbara DeSerres for more information.

 Pastoral Care Needs

If you wish to speak confidentially with a member of the Pastoral Care Team, please send an email to team leader Judy Micoleau and a member will get back to you as soon as possible. The Pastoral Care Team is also recruiting new members! If you are a compassionate and astute listener and have a desire to support FP members who are experiencing spiritual and emotional needs, we would love to meet with you. Please email Judy Micoleau if you are interested!

Come Sing With Us!

The First Parish Choir has weekly rehearsals every Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm and we're looking for new members! For more information please email our Music Director, Benjamin Holbrook.
