It's Memorial Day!

The shop will be closed today, Monday, May 30th, so all of our associates can spend the day with their families.

Welcome to the unofficial start of Summer!
This day of remembrance is a special, lovely way to start off what promises to be a great Summer season!

In a couple of days it will be June, and this year June will be a month jam-packed with action here at Conversational Threads.  Plenty of new yarns, loads of new knitting/crocheting project bags, a bunch of new classes and some really great events are just some of the things we have in store for you this month!

Please read on for all the details!

Loop's 10 Trunk Show and Book Sale

(Tentatively) Monday, June 20th - Friday, July 1st

Come see the exceptional garments in this exceptional book created for the 10th anniversary of London's wonderful knitting shop, Loop.  We are very excited to be hosting this trunk show for two weeks, and will at that time have quite a few copies of the book for sale, which is otherwise sold out practically everywhere in the US.

The garments and accessories are the creations of some of the most notable designers in today's knitting and crocheting, including Kirsten Kapur, Ysolda Teague, Stephen West, Pam Allen, Claire Montgomerie, Paulina Popiolek, Juju Vail, Meghan Fernandes, Donna Higgins, Rachel Atkinson and Tif Fussell.

You can get a preview look at the designs that are included by checking on Ravelry here.

Don't miss this event!  Assuming the trunk show arrives as planned, we will have it up on Monday, June 20, but it would be best to call ahead if you are making the trip in case it is delayed.

Pass the Word!  We are Looking for People New to Knitting!
Announcing our Beginner's Knitting Course!

Know someone who has wanted to learn to knit but never found the time, or couldn't commit to a specified time for every week? Or could it be you?  Here's the chance to learn this rewarding, relaxing therapeutic hobby at your own pace.

Sessions will be held on Tuesday Evenings from 6:30PM to 8:30PM and Thursday Afternoons from 3:00PM to 5:00PM, beginning
Tuesday, June 14th.

This Course is for the Absolute Beginning New Knitter or for Start Again Knitters, for those wanting to learn to knit or for those who have knitted long ago but have forgotten most of what they knew.

Students must reserve a spot for each session they wish to attend in order to maintain the maximum of 6 people per session so that everyone is able to get sufficient attention for their needs.

The Beginner Knitters will complete four projects in the course, from a wool hotpad to begin, progressing through a scarf, a hat, and fingerless gloves, learning many techniques along the way.  Those who complete all four projects will receive a Conversational Threads logo canvas tote bag upon completion.

Cost is $20 per session when each session is purchased individually and $15 per session when purchasing 5 sessions at a time.
Course is limited to 6 people per each day's session, so sign up soon!  To sign up, call the shop at 610-421-8889 or, better yet, email the teacher directly at [email protected].
