PLEASE RESPECT EVERYONE...WEAR A MASK
Again this week we had 3 customers refusing to wear a mask, and we had to ask them to leave. When the scientists and doctors say that there is no longer a risk, we will change our policy. Until then, masks are required.
We understand that times are stressful for us all. For Burhop's, it's especially hard, as our staff is on the front lines, dealing with the public 6 days a week. Ours is a small store, and we need to keep both our staff and our customers safe. So please. please do the following:
1) Wear a mask or face covering that covers your nose and mouth. Many people, especially children apparently, can be asymptomatic, i.e. have no symptoms but are still spreading the virus. The people who refuse to wear a mask are being disrespectful to everyone they come into contact with. Just because you don't feel sick doesn't mean you're not spreading the virus.
2) Take advantage of our curbside pickup or the GoFr delivery service. Just call with a credit card. 630-887-4700. Our fish and prepared foods are always fresh and premium quality - we will give you what you want (as long as we have it) with no contact required. We will also wrap fish for freezing, so you can have some handy for a future meal.
3) If you want to come into the store. please LOOK FIRST, to see if there are already 8 customers in the store. If there are already 8 customers (staff is extra), please wait outside until someone leaves. The entry way is covered, and the weather is improving - just be sure to leave a safe distance between yourself and the next person.
Many of our most loyal customers are in the upper age brackets that are most at risk from Covid 19. When they venture out, they want to feel safe. Because quarters are close in our store, they get very upset by people with no masks. Please think of them as well as our staff when you venture out. Wearing a mask is not exactly a huge sacrifice. And it could save a life, even your own.
NO ONE DIES FROM WEARING A MASK,
BUT PEOPLE MAY DIE IF YOU DON'T.
