Sunday Worship (10am)
Location: Monkey Wrench Brewing
3425 Martin Farm Rd., Suwanee, GA 30024
Good News Family & Friends,
School's out! I can remember, as a student, the elation I felt on the last day of school. Now as a parent, I would replace elation with exhaustion! We're elated, too. :) As we move into Memorial Day Weekend, I hope you'll be able to take a deep breath, get some rest, enjoy the outdoors (maybe throw some burgers on the grill), and also spend a little time reflecting on and remembering the immense sacrifice made for the gift of freedom we've received as citizens of America and of heaven.
Recommended... Check out the National Memorial Day Concert (Sunday, 8pm on PBS) as a way of remembering with gratitude the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom.

NEW! Sermon Notes, Slides & Audio
This past Sunday, May 21, we wrapped up the second part of Jesus' teaching of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12). To access the audio, notes, and slides, click here. NOTE: To watch the 15 minute video of Ike Brown's story that I shared on Sunday, click here.
NEW! Ministry Impact Report (Spring 2023)
We've sent out our Spring 2023 Ministry Impact Report. If you didn't receive it and you'd like to read and be encouraged by all that God is doing, click here. If you'd like to be added to our database and mailing list, click here.
NEW! Lanier High School Fishing Team Wins State Championship!
Good News Church GA had a key role in helping to start the LHS Fishing Team, and in this inaugural season, they won the GHSA State Championship and qualified for the National Championship Tournament in Lacrosse, WI (June 20-24). It was an amazing season! Check out this Gwinnett Daily Post article that recognized Good News Church's involvement.
Order "The Jesus Lifestyle" as a Sermon Series Companion Resource
I'd highly recommend you pick up a copy of The Jesus Lifestyle ($14.99) by Nicky Gumbel as a companion resource to our new sermon series on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matthew Ch. 5-7). We're using this book with our kids as a devotional resource this summer. The book chapters are divided up about the same as we're dividing up the sermon messages. Highly recommended! And, if cost is an issue, we'll have a few free copies for anyone to pick up at the resource table on Sunday mornings.
Social Cornhole After Church (1pm Sign Up / Play from 1:30pm - 3pm)
Elevate Cornhole has invited Good News Church to join in and play in their "Sunday Social" ($10 per person) tournament. I think it's amazing that they would invite a "church group" to hang out and play cornhole with them! This is a great opportunity. You don't have to be good at all. This tournament is all about fun and being social. If Jesus were physically here with us, I guarantee you He'd play! :) How about you? If interested, just stay and play!
NEW! Women's Connect - Thursday, June 8 (6pm) at Tequila Mama Taqueria
Save the date for our next Women's Connect at Tequila Mama Taqueria (Suwanee Town Center). Address: 340 Town Center Ave, Suwanee, GA 30024
NEW! House Church Sunday June 25th - Wanna host?
When the New Testament Church started (see Acts 2), they met in each other’s homes. On Sunday, June 25th, Good News Church GA is going "old school" by gathering in each other’s homes in order to connect and get to know each other in the casual, relaxed environment of our homes. It’s gonna be a great morning! For questions and/or if you're willing to host or facilitate, email Laura.
NEW! Sunday Worship July Location Change to Payne-Corley House (Duluth)
Please note that during the month of July, due to the summer heat in the Monkey Wrench warehouse, we will be meeting for Sunday worship (10am) at the Payne-Corley House in Duluth. Address: 2987 Main Street, Duluth, GA 30096.

NEW! Good News (Highlights) / Encouraging Bible Verse
Be thinking ahead about your good news (highlights) and/or an encouraging Bible verse that you'd be willing to share, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you're not super comfortable talking into a mic, our hope is that email may be a great option. Our overall worship experience is so much more enriching when people share. "When you gather to worship, each of you be prepared with something that will be useful for all (1 Corinthians 14:26)."
Quote of the Week
"Peace is seeing the sunset and knowing who to thank.” - Unknown (shared at the Celebration of Life for Carl Wilhelm)
Verse of the Week
“… unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.” - Jesus (John 12:24b-25)
VISION & VALUES
The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.
The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
