A New Vicar
MLC has helped train vicars since 2000. We will install our new Vicar, Martin Hill, this Sunday. Early in our vicarage program we had a vicar who was "wet behind the ears." He had been with us about six months, when I had to send him to a meeting of members which I could not attend. I recommended to him that he remain quiet at the meeting. The next morning, I had a phone call from the chairman of the committee. I immediately worried that the Vicar had said something he shouldn't have. The member said, "Pastor, now I know why we support the vicarage program." "Oh?" "Yes, our Vicar has matured so much and grown in the six months he's been here. We asked him a question and he answered very wisely." I was relieved to hear this response. But it does tell us what the vicarage program does. For this were thankful to God. Welcome, Martin Hill!
