Join us Sunday for a BBQ
Join us for a Friendship BBQ honoring the new members we gain Sunday and welcome our teachers and school families back to school. THIS Sunday, 18 August, 12:30 PM- 2:00 PM.
Delicious Texas BBQ, potato salad, and good company will be provided. Please bring a side to share with your fellow members and guests.
We are also looking for a few good Lutherans to help with clean-up afterward. Remember many hands make for light work!

See YOU there!
From the Pastor
Division For the Sake of Unity
In moments of weakness, Christians look for unity in all the wrong places. We look for peace and harmony, and we forget. We forget that Jesus has come to bring division, just as he says in this Sunday's Gospel. "Do you think that I have come to give peace on the earth? No, I say to you, but rather, division." He has come to divide us from our sins, so necessarily he divides us from others. Father against son, mother against daughter; these divisions, as uncomfortable as they might be are necessary.
Jesus comes and brings his divisive sword of law and gospel. The results are always God pleasing, but they bring us displeasure and discomfort. Repent and take comfort in the division of Jesus. Divided from your sins, you are free to cling to Christ's forgiveness and share it with your family and your friends, even when they refuse to hear it. It's uncomfortable, but God divides you from your sin so that you will be united with him for the sake of Jesus.
