Happy Feast Day!
This coming Sunday will be a day for celebrating, for feasting.  On Sunday, MLC will welcome over 30 new members to our congregation.  New members are always a blessing from God for which we offer our thanks.  In addition, we will also remember St. Timothy, pastor and confessor of the Faith.

St. Timothy was not an Apostle, but one recruited by St. Paul, to continue the preaching, teaching, and administering of the sacraments in a congregation. The Apostles were an extraordinary means used by God to spread the Gospel throughout the world.  They preached the Word and worked miraculous signs indicating their origin (sent from God).  St. Timothy was not an apostle.  He was a pastor.  As a pastor, St. Timothy used the God given Word and sacraments to carry out the ministry entrusted to his care. Through these means, then and now, God continues to bring people out of sin and death to forgiveness and life.  Happy Feast Day!
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns
Acts 16:1-5
Hymns: 655, 766, 517, 682, 586, 587, 664
