From the Vicar
People use love, joy, and especially anger from a corrupted and fallen orientation. This results in all kinds of sins of the heart and body. What is rare though, is seeing human emotions expressed perfectly and in a God pleasing way. There is a great source of this in Christ. Just open up the gospels and read how Jesus uses his humanity in perfection to glorify his Father.
In our gospel text for this Sunday (John 2:13-25), we have a wonderful example of this. Jesus sees people improperly utilizing the temple, his Father's house. So what does he do? In a storm of righteous wrath he throws over the tables of the money changers and tells them of their sinful actions. Is it sinful the way Jesus handles this? Isn't anger bad?
God's anger is never wrong or bad, because it is not corrupt or unjust; his anger is always righteous and just. Vengeance belongs to God and he will enact it according to his ways; so thank God for the miracle of being justified and declared righteous in Jesus.

Who's New?
Rev. Richard and Kris Gaub  are pleased to be part of the Memorial Lutheran School faculty. The Gaubs moved to Houston last summer from Northern California. Rev. Gaub teaches Literature, English, and Math in the Middle School, while Kris teaches one of the 4 Year Old Pre-Kindergarten classes. The Gaubs have 4 grown children and three grandchildren. They are thankful to be members of a faithful Lutheran congregation.

We are thankful that the Gaubs are part of our MLCS family!
