Caroling to Our Shut-In Members

Mark your calendars and plan to join us after second service on the afternoon of 21 December, as we go caroling to our shut-ins.  All are welcome!

We will meet in the narthex directly after second service. We will go for a quick lunch at Jason's Deli and then meet back at the church to begin the route. Music and Maps will be provided. The MLS bus will transport most carolers.  RSVP to the Church Office so we can plan for music and transportation.

From the Pastor
The True Advent

The true Advent getting ready is a getting ready to receive, not a getting ready to do. The "to do" is already done. Only those in need receive. The doing is all done by the God who comes to distribute gifts to us sinners. Christ came born of the Virgin Mary precisely to be the gift for those who have no righteousness of their own and thus may only receive a gift. Repentance is the agonized admission of a doing of nothing, and a joyous confession of doing nothing. We have failed, but God has not failed to save us. He does all the doing.

Who's New?
Sujatha and Krishna Vellanki hail from Andhra Pradesh India.  They are US citizens and have been living here for 13 years.  The Vellankis have three children; Vijaya is 13, Anil is 12, and Akhil is 8. While Krishna is a professional truck driver, Sujata is looking for part-time work in early childhood education.  Both Sujatha and Krishna grew up Hindu but Sujatha believes in Jesus as her only Lord and Savior. The family was introduced to Memorial by Krishna's sister, who is already baptized. Sujatha is attending Telugu instruction and will raise her children in the Christian faith. Welcome to Memorial Krishna, Sujatha, Vijaya, Akhil, and Anil! We are glad that you are here at Memorial.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
