Extraordinarily Ordinary:
The Proverbs 31 Woman and Missionary Wife Life

Often we see the Proverbs 31 woman's attributes and skill list as absolutely extraordinary, but in truth, the tasks listed in Proverbs 31:10-31 would have been fairly typical ones for a roughly upper middle class woman of the time. There is something else that elevates these ordinary, every day tasks. Although many people may view missionary life as something exotic or extraordinary, often for missionary families, the reality is that most of life is taken up with normal everyday tasks, just in different circumstances. Elizabeth Ahlman will share anecdotes from missionary life as a wife and mom doing pretty ordinary things as we explore what more the Prov. 31 Woman has to say to us about the way in which God is at work in the lives of Christians in our vocations, and how He values and makes sacred the ordinary.
From the Pastor
Worthy
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" -Revelation 5.

The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse of what life is like with God after Jesus lived, died, and rose from the grave; what life is like after we receive the blessings of our Lord's death and resurrection through his Word and Sacraments.

Worthy is Christ is not only the teaching of the Holy Scriptures, but it is the hymn sung by the forgiven people of God in their worship of Jesus Christ.  Worthy is Christ because of who he is (God) and because of what he has done for us.

Because Jesus lived for us under the Law, died in our place to satisfy the Law, and rose for us unto life everlasting, He, above all the creation is truly worthy of our honor, and glory, and blessing.
