Welcome and Introductions of Speakers
In honor of his legacy and memory, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine will host a memorial service for the global community in honor of the Most Rev. Desmond Tutu (1931-2021).
Archbishop Tutu spoke at the Cathedral in 1986 to thank Americans for protesting against apartheid and to raise awareness for South African refugee funds. He was known globally for preaching a Gospel of radical reconciliation and truth-telling. This in-person and livestreamed memorial service will celebrate his legacy and prophetic voice for justice.
