Memories of Your First Home
What do you remember about living in your first home? Whether it was the first home your parents bought or the first home you bought as your new family began to grow, those memories are powerful. It is those kinds of memories that I wish for our daughter as I think about the childhood years she has ahead of her. My husband and I know that now is the time to buy a house, to get a great value in a great location. We're very excited about buying our first home, settling in to the place we will watch our family grow and make memories that our children will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
While very cheesy, those reasons for buying a home are very valid, for my husband and me, as well as many of your own clients. While there are many people in the market in the same position, as first time homebuyers, there are also many others who may be looking to downsize, or looking for something more convenient, more energy efficient or more accessible. No matter what your clients' reasoning, now really is the time to buy. Here are a few other more practical reasons to buy a new home:
1. Interest rates are lower now than when your parents and grandparents
bought their first home. Ask them, see what they say.
2. There are grants (no repayment) available to moderate income families for
assistance with a down payment and/or closing costs.
3. Your monthly rent payment goes towards paying your landlord's mortgage
payment and taxes. Why not reap these benefits for yourself?

- Sales taxes
- Mortgage insurance premiums
