Memory Hub Stories

First ever Bridges Bistro introduces a unique dining experience in which the servers are individuals living with memory loss and dementia

This month we were thrilled to co-host the first ever Bridges Bistro. This pop-up event, based on the Restaurant of Mistaken Orders in Japan, is to our knowledge the first of its kind in the U.S. For this trial run, hosted at the Bistro at Murano Senior Living, we invited a group of neighbors and supporters to help us test it out and offer feedback. From all the smiles in the room, we’d say it was a rousing success! “It opened my eyes to how large and expanded family can be,” said one server, commenting on the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Organized by Murano Senior Living and the Memory Hub, Bridges Bistro aims to build dementia awareness while providing a meaningful volunteer opportunity for people with memory loss. We hope to be a bridge of connection between our neighbors with memory loss and dementia and the wider community. Stay tuned for the public launch of Bridges Bistro in the new year!

The Culmination of ‘Dancing Together’ Enchants with a Seated Dance Performance Born of Collaboration

Dancers from Elderwise, The Terraces at Skyline, and the Alzheimer’s Café at the Memory Hub who have been participating in this project throughout the quarter, came together for a shared seated dance experience inside the Frye Art Museum’s salon.
