Guidance: ICF Exit Waiver Availability
Attention: County Boards, ICFs
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities has received multiple inquiries about Exit Waiver eligibility for residents of intermediate care facilities with eight or fewer beds. DODD would like to clarify that all ICF residents are eligible for Exit Waiver allocation regardless of the facility bed capacity. 
ODM Releases EVV Provider Training Info
Attention: All Providers
Training registration for the Ohio Department of Medicaid’s (ODM) Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Phase 2 will begin April 1 with training open May 6.
Update: Medication Self-Admin Assessments
In January, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities published guidance about updated medication self-administration assessments.

As a larger group of stakeholders began to use the new forms, it was noted that some minor adjustments needed to be made to better capture situations where people are cognitively able to self-direct care but need physical assistance. Revised editions are now posted.
Clinician's Verification Form Changes
Attention: County Boards, DCs, ICFs
Following communication with members of the Ohio Association of County Boards, the Clinician’s Verification Form 10 and Up has reverted back to the previous form and includes the option for a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) to sign for medical conditions that are within the CNP’s scope of practice. 
 
The form has been updated in the forms section of dodd.ohio.gov under "Waiver Enrollment."

Health and Welfare Series Live Now
The Health and Welfare Series online course contains five modules on topics such as Major Unusual Incidents (MUI) rule changes, choking and fall prevention, DODD Health and Welfare Alerts, and MUI investigations. 
 
Modules vary from 5 to 15 minutes in length. All five modules will take about an hour to complete. Complete all five modules to satisfy the annual training requirements found in OAC 5123-17-02: Addressing Major Unusual Incidents and Unusual Incidents. Completion of all five modules is eligible for one CPD unit. Modules can also be completed separately. Get started in DODD MyLearning.
