Greetings from NNJR President David Julis
|
When I was installed as President, I emphasized that we are all in this together. We are all working towards the same goal of involving Jewish Men in Jewish Lives. And how do we do this? We all participate in the core FJMC Annual Activities – World Wide Wrap, Shoah Yellow Candles, Men’s Club Shabbat. We also have our individual club activities. All these activities bring us together as brothers. This is what Men’s Club is about. We should make every effort to attend, not only our own club events, but also our brother’s events.
This past month, I attended Men’s Club Shabbat at both Beth El in East Windsor and Temple Shalom in Bridgewater. It was wonderful to share a Shabbat with my brothers and give them a Yasher Koach for leading the services. This past weekend, we had the pickup of the Yellow Candles, which was attended by our brothers from ten separate Men’s Clubs. We davened, had bagels, schmoozed, and then got the candles. Everyone got a chance to meet some new guys and share ideas. What a beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning.
One of the other ways to meet fellow Men’s Club brothers is to attend the many social and fun events that we are doing. This is a great way to meet your brothers in a more relaxed environment. These are the types of events that I call “FUNraisers”. The newest NNJR fun event is Go-Karts at Supercharged in Edison, NJ on May 23rd. We just sent out the information a few days ago, and already over 20 people have signed up. What a great response! See the flyer in this newsletter and/or contact David Glass for more information.
We are also looking into some other events that the Region Board can push down to our Clubs. This way we do the “heavy lifting”, and all you have to do is participate, have a good time, and most importantly meet your fellow brothers. What a beautiful thing.
Again, and I can’t say this enough, share your events. Send your flyers to communicationsvp@nnjr.org so that we can publish them in this newsletter and put them on the NNJR website calendar. Participate and attend events at other Clubs. Meet new people. Share ideas. Help each other. Get out of your comfort zone. Do events with other Clubs. There is no reason to have to reinvent the wheel.
We are all in this together.
B’Shalom,
David

Dear Friends,
On November 7, 2023, we issued a challenge grant to the member clubs of the Northern NJ Region. The region will match each clubs’ donations to the American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) up to $200. If all of our clubs participated, that would allow all of us together to donate over $11,000 to AFMDA. At the time, we were all hopeful that the war in Gaza would be over quickly, unfortunately that is not the case as we all know.
The need is still there. As of now, 10 clubs have made the donation, and another 4 clubs have made a commitment. We need every club to step up and make the donation and send me an email at jlschul01@gmail.com saying that you did it. That is all we ask. Please participate.

Club Communications With The Region
|
So, your club is having a program, and you want other clubs to know about it?
You would like some regional officers to attend your Men’s Club Shabbat?
You just want the NNJR leadership to know you’re doing something?
Here’s how you can keep the NNJR Board connected with your Men’s Club activities:
Every club should include the following email forwarding addresses in their mailing list:
president@nnjr.org – Keep the President informed about club events so they may attend if possible.
execvp@nnjr.org – Keep the Executive Vice President informed about club events so they may attend if possible.
communicationsvp@nnjr.org – Keep the Communications Vice President informed about club events so they may add it to this newsletter, etc. to keep other clubs informed.
Furthermore, each club should include the appropriate Rosh email address out of the following:
roshnorth@nnjr.org – For those clubs in the Northern District.
roshcentral@nnjr.org – For those clubs in the Central District.
roshsouth@nnjr.org – For those clubs in the Southern District.
This would be so your Rosh can be informed about club events so they may attend if possible.
Please see this chart to determine your club’s district:
