Dear Chaverim,
As we turn the calendar to September, we find ourselves not only at the start of a new program year for NNJR and your clubs, but also at a deeply meaningful moment in the Jewish calendar. We are now in the month of Elul, a time of reflection, preparation, and renewal as we approach the High Holidays and the beginning of a new Jewish year. Elul calls upon each of us to look inward—at our community, our families, and ourselves—so that we may enter Rosh Hashanah with open hearts, ready for growth and connection.
At NNJR, this season mirrors our own sense of recommitment. Over the summer, our leadership has been hard at work planning engaging programs, strengthening our organizational structure, and building opportunities for learning and community. We are excited to welcome back our members after a restorative summer and to invite new friends to join us in our shared mission of lifelong Jewish learning.
Rosh Hashana is a reminder that every ending brings the possibility of a new beginning. Just as we take time to reflect personally during Elul, I encourage all of us to think about how we can contribute to and benefit from our NNJR and Men’s Club communities in the year ahead. Whether through attending programs, volunteering, or simply showing up to connect with others, each of us plays an important role in the vitality of our clubs and our region.
On behalf of the board, I want to wish you and your loved ones a sweet, healthy, and fulfilling new year. May this season of reflection and renewal bring us closer together as a community and inspire us in the months to come.
L’shanah Tovah
B’Shalom,
