New Provider Welcome

CHDC Welcomes Our New Director of Behavioral Health

We are so excited to welcome our new Director of Behavioral Health to CHDC. Andre Hewitt comes to CHDC as an experienced behavioral health provider working with children and adults who are facing a wide range of mental and emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, and impulse control. He is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT). He earned his BA in Ministerial Theology from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama and his Master’s in clinical counseling psychology from Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania.

CHDC offers a fully integrated behavioral health and medical program. Equipped with a team of behavioral health consultants, CHDC emphasizes the importance of working with CHDC patient’s primary care provider to offer the best quality treatment available. CHDC can help patients through their problems and walk the path with them, in hopes to give patients a better quality of life.

If you are an existing CHDC medical patient or would like to become a new medical patient and integrate a behavioral health appointment with Andre Hewitt, please call 610-326-9460 or visit our website. New patients are welcome for all CHDC services. Click here to read our press releases to learn more.

Take Action for 340B

Community Health & Dental Care (CHDC) is committed to serving its patients with high quality, compassionate, and affordable healthcare. Eligible patients who are uninsured or underinsured and need access to discounted medication (offered through the 340B program) can get their prescriptions filled conveniently at the CHDC Dispensary and through our community partner, The Medicine Shoppe in Boyertown.

Patients shouldn't have to choose between their home, food, or medicine. For over 30 years, Community Health Centers have relied on the 340B program. Because of the program, millions of patients have benefited from medical and dental services and lower-cost medications.

Unfortunately, drug manufacturers have been able to refuse to ship 340B-priced drugs to local pharmacies. This means some patients can't access or afford the medicine they need. We thought this problem could be resolved through the courts, but we need your help.

Email your Members of Congress today to ask them to support keeping medicine affordable through 340B. Click here to get connected to your Member of Congress.

Together, we can ensure that Congress and the public understand how important the 340B program is to the viability of health centers! #CHDCfor340B

Health Awareness in June

Throughout the month of June, we are highlighting:

  • National Cancer Survivor's Day
  • World Blood Donor Day
  • Mens Health Month

These awareness months encourage us to take the time to learn more about various health causes.

National Cancer Survivor's Day

On June 4th, people around the world united to recognize cancer survivors, raise awareness of the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face, and celebrate life. This day provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer – including America’s more than 16.9 million cancer survivors – to connect with each other, celebrate milestones, and recognize those who have supported them.

World Blood Donor Day

Every year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day. The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. Visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/ to find a donation location near you!

Mens Health Month

June is Men’s Health Month. and we use social media to share education and awareness about men’s health issues around the world. During June and beyond, we want to promote a safe, healthy lifestyle for men & boys! That includes getting an annual check-up with their health care provider, eating nutritiously, talking about their mental health, & more. Staff members from CHDC sent in some photos and advice about what Mens Health means to them. Follow us on social media to see Mens Health Month advice from our providers throughout the month of June.
