School Assignment Change Requests

Marinette School District assigns all students to their home schools based on the established elementary school boundaries to ensure student enrollment balance within the elementary schools.

By July 30, a parent can apply for a district exception online, which is reviewed by the District Administrators for approval. If the family receives approval, it is the district’s expectation that the student will be parent transported to/from school in a timely manner or the district exception will be reversed. Families will be notified by the first Friday in August.

Potential Reasons for Approval:
  1. Medical conditions of student.
  2. Extenuating family situation.
  3. Family moved from current home in district to a new home causing a change in elementary boundary area.

Marinette School District reserves the right to request further documentation if needed to make a final decision. All decisions are made by the District Administrator and are final.

Congratulations to our Character Education Winners for having GRIT
News From Principal Kostrova

End of year STAR Literacy assessment will begin on April 22nd.
We will use this data to determine student growth over the course of the school year to reflect on our program delivery for students as well as start to prepare for how to modify instruction for next school year. You will be receiving a copy of your child’s progress in the next couple of weeks. We encourage you to have a conversation about their growth and to contact the school to discuss how you can support your child over the summer months.

REMINDER that you can still sign up for the District’s Summer Learning Program! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have fun
and learn something new!

We hope you enjoyed the Family Literacy Night on April 16th. Please be sure to check out Facebook, our Website, and Seesaw to stay current with all of our end of the year activities.

Lastly, thank you for sharing your child with us this past school year. It has been our pleasure working alongside you in the education process.
