Community Updates
California District 28 Little League Golf Tournament Seeking Sponsors
The D28 Little League Golf Tournament will take place on April 24, 2022, at Menifee Lakes Country Club. The tournament will be held as a charity event for the seven leagues located in Southwest Riverside County. These include Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Menifee Valley, Murrieta, Temecula, Temescal Valley, and Wildomar leagues.

City of Menifee News
Feb. 16 @ Menifee City Hall: Strategic Visioning Plan Workshop
This Wednesday, the Menifee Council will review and update the city's 5-year Strategic Visioning Plan. The workshop will be held in the Menifee Council Chambers at 3 PM. The Strategic Visioning Plan identifies the overall goals and objectives for the city.

Riverside County to Offer COVID-19 Relief Program for Microbusinesses
The Riverside County Office of Economic Development will be accepting grant applications beginning February 14, 2022, at 8 AM. The grant aims to mitigate financial setbacks incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is currently being carried out on a first-come, first-serve basis. A microbusiness for this grant is classified as a business with less than five employees. Click here for more information.
Restart Small Business Loans Available
The County of Riverside & AmPac Business Capital are partnering to provide emergency and ongoing capital for small businesses in Riverside County. Restart loans are available to businesses located anywhere in the county. Loans may be given for $15,000 to $30,000. Apply here.

January 2022 REALTOR® Report
The latest REALTOR® report by the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors has been published. 

Overall, the numbers are trending on the positive side in terms of median home price and inventory. The report anticipates a positive legislative outlook for the year after advocacy efforts to prevent Assembly Bill 854 were successful. Learn more.

SB 114 Extends Paid Sick Leave for Small Businesses
The signing of SB 114 will extend supplemental paid COVID-19 sick leave through September 30, 2022. Small businesses with 25 or fewer employees are exempt from this requirement. Read the full story here.
Indoor Mask Mandate to End Feb. 15
California to end its indoor mask mandate for vaccinated individuals on February 15. Schoolchildren will still be required to wear masks while attending classes. Read the full story here.
Southwest California Legislative Council
SWCLC met on Jan 20, 2022, to discuss and take position on legislative initiatives for the state of California.

There were nine items up for discussion, eight positions were taken, and six actions were made. Click here for summary.
Inland Empire Chamber Alliance

At the Feb 14 meeting, IECA discussed new districts, the Alliance's Public Policy Platform, and an upcoming Advocacy Trip.
Economic Development Coalition
The Menifee Valley Chamber is a proud member of the Economic Development Coalition (EDC). The EDC unites public and private stakeholders to leverage the region’s competitive advantage, attracting business, and supporting a high quality of life.
California Chamber of Commerce
The California Chamber of Commerce was involved in successful efforts to prevent a single-payer health care bill, as well as two other bills that have been identified as "job killers." AB 995, AB 1192, and AB 1400 missed the January 31 deadline and are expected to remain out of action for the rest of the year. Read more here.
