May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Community Resource Center supports the national movement to raise awareness and support behavioral health care all year long. No one should feel alone in their mental health journey or without the resources and support they need. See the resources below and know that you are not alone.

CRC provides prevention and education in our community to encourage healthy relationships and prevent domestic violence. Our prevention educator, Luis Canseco, shares: "During our class with a group of young middle school boys, we discussed bullying and its effects. While sharing my own experiences being bullied as a kid, one of the boys got up, walked over to his peer, gave him his hand, and apologized for bullying him. We all felt the power of accountability and love."
Luis recently participated in a KPBS panel on the challenges of addressing mental health issues in Latinx culture. Listen on KPBS

A Sweet Gift for Families at Our Shelter
Local Girl Scout, ILana, recognizes the big impact of small acts of kindness. For several years, she has asked her Girl Scout cookie customers to consider donating cookies to CRC's Carol's House shelter families. ILana shares, "It is my hope that each box of cookies purchased by a caring person helps the person who donated feel like they are making a difference and in return the families at Carol’s House feel that they are thought about by someone who thinks they are important."
