Mental Health Awareness Month Toolkit


The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is presenting the “2024 Mental Health Awareness Month Toolkit.” This toolkit was created with SAMHSA partners in mind, and all materials are designed to be shared, and some materials are customizable. Materials include weekly themes, social media sharables, stickers, virtual backgrounds, resources for content development, and tips for engaging in respectful conversation around mental health.

 

Motivational Interviewing for Veterans Treatment Courts


All Rise is launching the “Motivational Interviewing Toolkit for Veterans Treatment Courts.” This free resource addresses integrating the foundational components of Motivational Interviewing into the treatment court setting and is divided into a toolkit and quick-reference bench card, and is available digitally at this link.

 

Children’s Mental Health Toolkit


Integral Care has curated a children’s mental health toolkit to help parents, children, and guardians better manage their mental health. The toolkit includes information on family support, children’s therapy, activities, and mental health care resources, and is available here.

 

Adult Treatment Court Best Practice Standards


Judge Diane Bull is presenting a webinar titled “Unlocking Lasting Change: Mastering Effective Behavioral Responses in the Digital Age” on May 8 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. CDT. She will discuss evidence based-strategies and tech-driven solutions to drive lasting change and unpack proximal, distal, and managed behaviors, tackle common challenges, and explain intervention essentials. Ask about Suicide to Save a Life (AS+K) Virtual Training


The Health and Human Services Commission is hosting a training on May 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. CDT on warning signs, clues and suicidal communications of people in psychological distress, and the actions to take to prevent a possible tragedy.   Sequential Intercept Model Mapping Opportunity


HHSC has published the Fall 2024 Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) mapping workshop application for communities interested in working with the HHSC Office of Forensic Coordination to map local behavioral health, criminal justice, or juvenile justice systems and develop action plans. The application deadline is May 17, and the application is available at this link.


Assisted Outpatient Treatment Judge’s Chat


The National Center for State Courts is hosting an Assisted Outpatient Treatment Judge’s web chat on May 23 at 2:00 p.m. CDT. These chats provide an opportunity to make connections, share ideas, and ask questions only a seasoned peer can answer. This is a closed meeting for members of the judiciary, and Zoom registration is available at this link.
