May is National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month and a time to spotlight the importance of caring for every child and young adult’s emotional health. It’s important to know that mental health is equally important as physical health, as you cannot have one without the other.
We hope you and your family find this month’s podcast beneficial as we strive to promote mental health education and support with the goal of decreasing the stigma that is often associated with mental health. *Note: The podcast episodes work best using Google Chrome.*

Wellable Challenge - Stress Less
Wellable is Orange County Government's health and wellness platform. You and your spouse have the opportunity to compete in wellness challenges, explore new ways to create and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle, and qualify for exciting prizes!

It's not too late to join the Stress Less Challenge, running from May 9 - June 19.

This challenge provides an opportunity for you to learn about and practice different stress management techniques. You will earn Wellable Points for tracking physical activity and practicing six different Stress Less Exercises.

Self-report this "Wellable (Wellness Application) Challenge" through mycigna.com to earn 20 myOCWellness points.
Free Counseling Sessions
Through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), employees and their family members (spouse and children) have access to six free counseling sessions. Virtual or in-person counseling is available.

In order to utilize counseling services through the EAP, you must call 1-855-221-8925. You will be asked for our Web ID (ORANGECOUNTY).

A representative will connect you with a professional that fits your needs so you can schedule a free appointment.
Cope Notes, a free service for Orange County employees, uses daily text messaging to improve mental and emotional health through:
  • Repetition - The more often you think a thought, the more likely you are to think it again
  • Disruption - These texts interrupt negative thought patterns, reinforcing healthy habits
  • Adaptation - Your brain will form neural pathways associated with coping skills and resilience
