Message from the Mayor

This special edition of Cranford Township News is dedicated to sharing resources available for those dealing with the many forms of mental illness, and for the families, friends and co-workers also affected.

May was designated Mental Health Awareness Month but we need to be mindful that people suffer every day, every month. Mental illness, anxiety and depression affects men, women and sadly, teenagers and children and the number is growing. We want to bring special attention to programs and resources that are available.

Thank you to Dr. Scott Rubin, Superintendent of Cranford Schools, Lisa Burfeindt, Director of School Counseling, Dr. Margaret Pipchick, Psychologist and member of the Cranford Emergency Management Team, and Police Chief Ryan Greco. They provided important information, articles and resources and encourage each of us to share with someone who may be experiencing difficult days.

Best,
Kathleen Miller Prunty
Mayor
