5 Tips to live by during the holidays…
Having a good support system…goes without saying. Even if its one person.
If it’s someone you trust and is a reliable source for you…, then that’s your support! Don’t hesitate to reach out to them and have an agreement that especially during the holidays to always be 'WOKE' and ready to talk/listen to each other.
Stay within budget-easy to say harder to do, I get it. But staying within your monthly budget will ensure that things don’t get out of hand. Let family & friends know ahead of time that per your budget, you may or may not be Santa this year!
Keep your same exercise & sleep routine or as close to it as possible along with keeping your dietary standards as you have all year. Stay hydrated and not necessarily with 'Spirits' as alcohol can spearhead a Depressive episode.
Always be ready to reach out and talk to someone even if its a National Hotline.
Make plans that are true to yourself. Don’t feel pressured to go out and about if your heart is saying stay in, cuddle up and just watch movies and series binge. Let your soul be your guide this holiday.
Keep a Gratitude Journal during your holiday. Journaling is a great way to express underlying emotions...and especially during the holidays which could prove stressful and sometimes never ending. The practice of writing relieves stress, provides comfort and helps to integrate feelings and identify underlying fears.
