THE PROCESS

ISSUE NO. 71 | May 2025

Dear Friend,

Thanks to you, we raised $145,000 during Spring Spectacular on May 1! With this support, we’re able to put funds towards our programs, art supplies, transportation costs, and more, ensuring access to vital mental health services.

A heartfelt thank-you to our incredible community and sponsors!

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, our collaborative campaign with Desenio, Art for a Cause, resumes tomorrow with a VIP panel discussion, followed by free public workshops and gallery-pop hours on Friday and Saturday.

We invite you to stop by to browse their latest collection—a portion of proceeds will go directly to The Art Therapy Project!

Mental Health Action Day Recap with kate spade New York

On May 15, we were invited by kate spade New York to lead an employee wellness workshop for the entire team at Tapestry. Staff participated in an intuitive drawing exercise, meant to encourage mindfulness, which is shown to help lower cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone.

May Workshops

May was a busy month as we facilitated Employee Wellness Workshops for organizations looking to provide their teams with a much-needed mental health break.

 Highlights included:

Community Resource Exchange (CRE)

We led a mindful art workshop for nonprofit leaders, offering a creative pause from the demands of nonprofit work.

ABC7

Recognizing the pressures of front-line news reporting, our workshop offered staff a moment to unwind and reflect through a variety of stress-reducing activities.

Arts & Minds

This workshop was designed for individuals navigating memory loss and their care partners. Activities focused on sensory engagement, mindfulness, and open studio time, allowing participants to explore a range of materials.

Water for People

This global nonprofit joined us virtually for a session centered on stress relief and taking a restorative break from the demands of their mission-driven work.

Plan Your Next Workshop:

These layered galaxy gems, handcrafted by a staff member, are a true labor of love! One of our art therapists gives these to their clients at the end of their therapeutic work together. As a parting gift, these galaxy gems proclaim "Your Feelings Color the Universe," offering clients a lasting reminder of their therapeutic journey with us to carry in their pocket.
