A lawsuit in Massachusetts resulted in the creation of the Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI). One of its innovations for children and families is Therapeutic Mentoring, requiring training and certification. To learn and share, we took the certification course, which had participants from Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, various states, and the Boston area.

The National Disability Mentoring Coalition and Partners for Youth with Disabilities offered its inaugural Disability Mentoring Certificate Program with a cohort of 130 people. We are excited to share what we are learning.

Summer is the time to revive, strengthen, or establish mentoring, coaching, leadership development, and internship programs in our state.

Senator Matthews founded this program with 100 Black Men of Tulsa thirteen years ago. For five weeks during the summer, high school youths shadow business professionals. The mentees learn about business, planning, professionalism, confidence, leadership, goals, and more. 'A replicable model.

Learn To Be is a nonprofit offering free online tutoring, 1-on-1, to help students succeed in school. Kelly Clarkson interviewed the nonprofit's Neeraj Kapoor, a software engineer, on June 8, 2021. Sign up to be tutored or to be a tutor.

The Trevor Project, founded in 1998, provides 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention outreach for LGBTQIA+ youths under age 25. MENTOR, the National Mentoring Partnership, has been featuring facts from the 2021 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, a must-read PDF. For example, The Trevor Project found that rates of suicide were significantly lower among transgender & nonbinary youth whose pronouns were respected than those who were routinely misgendered. Volunteers for Youth wins non-profit of the year for the Claremore Chamber of Commerce. Mendy Stone began this powerhouse of youth mentoring as the single employee in 1998.
Whitney Moore, Cheyenne Public Schools, will present "Cheyenne's Talls & Smalls Mentoring & More" at the OSSBA/ CCOSA Education Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City. Co-presenting will be some of the Talls, seventh-grade mentors.
